Yup it is a T2 :D
Thanks guys!
Only reason I asked was because I was helping a mate remove the engine from a Bluebird zx turbo as he's fitting it into his micra (I think it's a K11). Turbo looked like a really small unit. It'll be more then adequote for what he wants it for but what a faff on removing the lot as he needs not only the engine but all of the ancilliaries and wiring looms etc........................
prob be good when he's finished but we'll have to see.
Is your mate in the Micra Sports Club by any chance?
RC Developments have just done a turbo conversion on my wife's K11 1.3 Super S. Not sure of the power figures yet but it should be pushing out a minimum of 160bhp (we've destroyed a Helix paddle clutch in about 6 weeks and are waiting for a twin plate one from Japan before we get it on a RR).
Cars with similar specs in Japan produce around 200PS at 1bar boost. Hers is running a bigger turbo/intercooler than those cars and peaks at nearly 1.2bar boost. It's quicker than my standard S14a now:eek:  .
The little old Micra is a seriously under rated car. Doesn't take much to make them handle like a go kart and the 1.3l version can be made to push around 100bhp just with simple mods like manifold, decat, exhaust and loads of cold air through an induction kit or modified airbox. The best bit is the look on peoples faces when you go flying past them :D , especially the Saxo boys.
funny enough...............I got two mates who wanted the 1.8 single cam turbo engine fitted to their micra. One of them is defo in the micra sports club, you may know him, Shek, he's got the silver K11 feature car. He was going for the engine swap but decided against it, now however my other mate, Ross, wants the engine fitted to his K11. Its the blue one with the corsa combat kit fittec and quad exit exhaust. May have seen it if you where at JAE billing earlier this year.
A modified 1.3 16v is bad enough but trying to fit a 1.8 turbo to a micra is scary. They are underestimated in my opinion too as far as small hatchbacks go, and as for suprising saxo drivers.....................;) hehe
Yeah - I've met Mr Shek. Nice bloke with a well sorted car. I thought it may have been him as he was talking about something major a few months ago. Didn't make it to Billing this year as we had a daughter that weekend :) so I haven't seen Ross' car.
If going for a complete engine swap why pick the old 8valver though - why not go for a SR20 or a CA18?

Could you fit the CA18DE from a sunny?
If so, whats to stop CA18DET power. :D

Yeah - that's what I was thinking. I used to have a 1.8 ZX Sunny coupe, loved it. Could use the running gear/gearbox from one of them and bolt the CA18DET to it. Big power, complete with LSD :D :D.

Anyone know what size the std injectors are on the bluebird?
And whether the ECU is the same as the S12?
An educated guess would be to say yes.
The engine on both the Bluebird turbo and the S12 silvia where the CA18ET

yeah, that's what I'm educatingly guessing too.
Someone must know for sure, the injector size is quite important too cos I might sell the guy some 370's if the bluebird ones are smaller..
Actually, now you come to mention it
I know when SE started up all those years ago (they may even still be working on one of these cars ;) ) a 5th injector was a fairly early mod for the S12, the injectors may be smaller than 370's

yeah, this guy was on about fitting a 5th injector so I suggested perhap he would like to fit some bigger ones (370) with me thinking that the std ones must be less than 370.
I don't know if they are top feed though or whether they are a straight swap.
