Noise limits at castle combe

I`m doing a track day at castle combe on the 17th May and I just got the information through about it. They are noise testing everyone and the limit is 100db(A) @ 0.5 meter from the car at 4500 revs. Having not had my car noise tested before will it pass? the car is an S14 with a mongoose exhaust without the cat

Should do....

My old s14a with strait through HKS was 85db
Current one with bren single silencer is 102 with the bung :eek: doh

Mongooses will be somewhere in the 90's i spect :)

The goose should be fine all day :) will easily pass stationary.

Does anybody know what the drive past limits are eg 85db at 20m or something?

Pop over to the paddock on any day they have a track sesh going on and they'll test it for you :)

I've an apex single that make 97-98db or similar for stationary - no idea why Smiffad's is so high :confused: Or have you not got the decat silencer?

No idea on the driveby though :no:

Fullmetalgasket do you have a decat and frontpipe with your system as i have the single silencer cat-back also and was worried bout the noise limits:nod:

My system is:
Front de-cat pipe - De-cat silencer (the older style scorpion one from Bren) - Apex single box megaphone (old style again as I believe he changed something :confused: ) I don't use the bung because it always blows my friggin turbo gaskets :rant:

If you have just the single box Apex system with no additional silencing then it will barely scrape through even with a bung - I recorded 106db when I had that setup :wack:
If you don't have a bung and need one then I can bring mine for you to borrow :thumbs:

i do now... when i was on track i had your old de-cat in :D its now gone to its 3rd owner to make their ears bleed :wack:

My downpipe is secured with Mk3 Cortina manifold nuts as they're far nicer then the Nissan ones (and my Nissan one is still wielded to the sheared bolt from last year, even with a vice the fooker won't come off) :wack:

If you can match that then I'll be requesting a restraining order :smash:

The bung is now in the Merc's boot :thumbs:
All I have to do is remember to transfer it to the 200 tomorrow when I worry at the seatbelts during my lunch break :wack:
