View Full Version : 200SX as a Track Day Toy??

I'm considering spending around £1k on a car for track days.
It needs to be road-legal, fairly reliable, cheap to maintain (can do most things myself), quick, and able to hold it's own on a track.
Lots of choices, 205 1.9 gti, golf gti mk2, clio 16v, bmw 325i etc.
I like the idea of a RWD turbo 200sx - got to be fun on the track, won't be pi$$ed on by everything else on the straights, and good driving should see it going round corners OK.
Only concerns are reliability - turbos on tracks will run hot - how reliable (honestly) could I expect one to be?
Are consumables (brakes, plugs, filters etc) cheap enough?
Cheers for advice.....

Ask SM, he's just a few months into fixing up/using a £100 S13 on track, admittedly using a lot of his S14 parts though :)
