Woo, have just got back from APT with the car running pretty nice. No more leaking gaskets and it has a curious (and I assume, good) new exhaust note at around 4,500rpm.

Thanks as usual to Gary, Chris and Christian for being a bunch of all round good eggs,

and a very special thank you to Gary who took me out in the Evo ... which really is a weapon on the twisties, but Gary mate, you really need to work on that launch technique :wack: :wack: :wack:

PS, I didn't see any bits of your diff on the way back, although there seemed to be a large oil trail :wack:

hehe Gary if there was a facial expression for what happened to your diff, I think it might be something like this:

Andy, I disagree about the facial expression bit.

Here's my interpretation of a suitable facial expression for this failure.....

Well, that was roughly how Gary looked prior to telling Debbie.:whip: :ghey:

strewwwth !!!

£800 rubs for a s/h diff  Are they common to fail then? I thought the Evo was only "mildly" tuned?

It is, driving all these high powered 200's is making him rag the family car too much it seems :D

Hi mate!!

Common mistake. 320bhp RST's (like the one in my sig) are ten-a-penny......:wack:

Oh dear, thats bad news. Ive heard of loads of evo diff explosions but most of them seem to be coming from Mr Norris' series of development cars.

Here's is Gary's diff. I think it wanted to make a bid for freedom. The idea of being couped up in that small space having to put up with Gary's driving just got too much for the poor thing.

Poor diff :( At least it put on a good show before it got overly stressed :)

And jeez, it wasn't half loud when it was limping back.

Funny thing is though, in 2 weeks time we are going to Santa Pod, so we may see a 'Deja Vu' thread around then!!:notworthy

lol, heard about this from the horses mouth, good work Gary. It appears that most of the Evo is made of cheese :wack:

Apparently the part is being replaced with "Slightly harder cheese" :D
