View Full Version : Big thanks to APT, big DOH to Gary!
Woo, have just got back from APT with the car running pretty nice. No more leaking gaskets and it has a curious (and I assume, good) new exhaust note at around 4,500rpm.
Thanks as usual to Gary, Chris and Christian for being a bunch of all round good eggs,
and a very special thank you to Gary who took me out in the Evo ... which really is a weapon on the twisties, but Gary mate, you really need to work on that launch technique :wack: :wack: :wack:
PS, I didn't see any bits of your diff on the way back, although there seemed to be a large oil trail :wack:
hehe Gary if there was a facial expression for what happened to your diff, I think it might be something like this:

ohh dear, that sounds painful for the evo!!!

eurgh, FOGG, CONTROL YOUR BRAIN YOU MENTALIST:smash: :annoyed:
sorry to hear the bad news gary, fogg has done this to peoples cars for years.:whip:
Andy, I disagree about the facial expression bit.
Here's my interpretation of a suitable facial expression for this failure.....

Well, that was roughly how Gary looked prior to telling Debbie.:whip: :ghey:
strewwwth !!!
£800 rubs for a s/h diff  Are they common to fail then? I thought the Evo was only "mildly" tuned?
It is, driving all these high powered 200's is making him rag the family car too much it seems :D
Break it - uprate it

Aye, come on Gary, stick your hand in your pocket!!:whip:
haha I never knew CnB was Christian ... hello mate
haha I never knew CnB was Christian ... hello mate
Hi mate!!
Common mistake. 320bhp RST's (like the one in my sig) are ten-a-penny......:wack:
Ahhh now, you see, I have signatures turned off when browsing so I don't see the big APT logos :D
Oh dear, thats bad news. Ive heard of loads of evo diff explosions but most of them seem to be coming from Mr Norris' series of development cars.
These evo diffs are made of jelly:D
£800:eek: thats a bummer mate:(
Narrr, its just the curse of the Fogg  ;)
These evo diffs are made of jelly:D
Here's is Gary's diff. I think it wanted to make a bid for freedom. The idea of being couped up in that small space having to put up with Gary's driving just got too much for the poor thing.

:wack:
Poor diff :( At least it put on a good show before it got overly stressed :)
And jeez, it wasn't half loud when it was limping back.

Good effort!
Quaife diff anyone??
Funny thing is though, in 2 weeks time we are going to Santa Pod, so we may see a 'Deja Vu' thread around then!!:notworthy
lol, heard about this from the horses mouth, good work Gary. It appears that most of the Evo is made of cheese :wack:
Apparently the part is being replaced with "Slightly harder cheese" :D
