After selling my baby (Pioneer FH-P6600R) I'm looking for a decent single head unit to replaceit, due to space restrictions...

However, if I buy a Headunit from America as they are about £200 cheaper then over here, am I right in thinking that it won't work properly because of the FM frequencies?

If that's the case I'll have to pay full wack by the looks of things.....I'm looking at getting a Pioneer DEH-8400?

Or does anyone elso know of some nice units for about £400....

Bugger me!!!! I've hit over a 1000 posts...:)

cant you get frequency adjusters ? i have heard about them for jap import cars ( they can only get up to radio 2 )

i may be talking **** but its another suggestion for you to explore

and at the mo you are looking a bit sick for answers

frequency adjusters was just a term i made up but it will raise this thread without needing a bttt :p :p :p :p

not sure about the fm signals issue...

but for 400 quid i would either go for the pioneer dehp8400mp, or the alpine cda7894rb both have been given excellent reviews ( seemed to lean more towards alpine) and the alpine is 20 quid cheaper...

The jap imports (like my mr2) have a 'bandwidth expander'.

They're OK but Radio 1 comes up as 83.9 and I can't get my local station on it (Radio Aire).

If your spending a lot of cash I'd go with the pukker UK version just to be on the safe side.
