View Full Version : Reliable Garages In The Cork Area

Just moved over here and the 200 has developed a small fuel leak around the front injector. I've called a few places today but no-one seems interested in touching a modified car. A nissan dealer will have a look at it for me next week, but I don't really trust nissan main dealers and don't want to pay their rip-off prices. So does anyone know any reliable garages in the cork area that I could take the car to? I've been told there's someone down in Waterford who specialises in performance jap cars but don't really want to drive all the way down there with a fuel leak.

Thanks for any information that anyone has:thumbs:

I've a stage one Norris modified s14a (very like yours actually we should mee t up for a look for the laugh )and wouldnt trust a main dealer with it.
I'd take it to Charlie Daly in Kilworth. He's brilliant with anything jap. was replacing a piston in a 200 last time i saw him. He does what you want and is very straight. Look him up in the phone book.

Oh and Kilworth is in North cork, just past Fermoy on the dublin road! In case you were wondering..

Thanks for the info lads, I'll give them a call today and see what they say:thumbs:

rob-s14a - I think I saw you last week comming across the bridge from Jury's Hotel onto Penrose Quay in cork. Is yours a sapphire blue de-spoliered s14a with silver graphics down the side?

Just called colm Grant and he wasn't really interested in looking at my car as he only deals with Toyota's. He gave me the number of Automania in Ballincollig, so I called them and they said that they only fit exhaust and cosmentic mods like lexus lights:ghey: Does anyone have the number of this charlie daly in kilworth, I've look on the net and in goldenpages but can't find his number. Don't really want to drive it up there though with a fuel leak:eek: Looks like Im going to have to take it to nissan and just watch over them when they work on the car.

I've heard a lot of people recommend TTM but i'm not sure where about they are. I know a guy from Cork got his remapped there recently and they did his turbo gaskets at a later stage so I'd assume they're not too far away from Cork

Thanks for that Derek  it's good to know a local garage that will work on the car for me as I need my de-cats put back on the car when the NCT comes around. It looks like I've fixed the problem now. I stripped the area down around the injectors and tightened up all the fuel lines. It looks like fuel was seeping from one of the fuel lines where a hose clip was not done up as tight as I would have liked  and my AFM and air filter were very loose:smash: possibly causing the car to over fuel. Thanks for the info though.

All you need is the middle cat. The emissions will be well below with that. You could probably change it yourself, although a bit of a pain without a lift.

Was thinking of organising an sx meet in Cork if anyones interested?

You'll probably need the both of them on a S14a (the one on the down pipe as well). Don't know why they put 2 on the s14a and only 1 on the s14:confused: stricter emission probably. If I could get away with the middle cat that would be great as it's less hassle to fit and I could probably do it myself.

rob-s14a - I think I may have seen you the other day. It was around 17:30ish one day last week and I was on my way home from work going out the straight road past the county council offices towards ballincollig. Saw a standard looking sapphire blue s14a about 2 cars behind me, I was in a silver Celica on UK plates. Are you in cork city or the surrounding area?

I'd be up for a sx meet somewhere in Cork.  Get to know some of local owners.

I passed my NCT a couple of weeks ago in my S14a with the middle cat only :)

Emissions were actually down on last time when I had both cats in

Don't know about that, my battery is clamped down with a bit of wood, there's a nasty leak from my sandwich plate that means the entire undertray is full of oil, and both my rear tyres were bald on the edges. :wack:

B&Q car park in Mahon Point looks like a good location. I was down there on saturday, there's plenty of room and it doesn't seem to get to busy:thumbs:

Wookie, Pm sent regarding a location.. The only downpoint to mahon point is the speed bumps. Should we open this to a Nissan meet or leave it at 200sx etc.. We mightened get much of a turnout..

I'd say we'd get enough 200's if we put the word out. There's a load of them in waterford and I'd say some would travel for it from tipp and limerick.
When would people like it to happen? Not the may bank holiday as im sure a lot of us will be away.Actually know a good location too maybe it the same one as you were thinking derek?
