I'm well up for it!

As long as we can keep it under £100 per person I know lots of other local people who are!

If anyone knows of a go-kart track or somehting that would be big enough, i would be happy to approach them with a proposal

Well llandow isnt much cop for drifting, not enough corner's or run off imo, Pembrey will be hugely expensive, so I think a runway type thing may be needed, however there is a bit of concrete land over from the track in Llandow, may be worth a try.

Anyone inspected this land to see if its smooth enough?

If its owned by the same guy that owns Llandow I'm sure he will be up for renting it out cheaply cos its doing nothing otherwise!

**Yeah, I remember, hope your day was as fun as mine!

iirc vidal has dealt with the llandow dudes ;)

Llandow land is no longer a viable option :(

It is now full of landfill :(

The Track is also not that much cop for the 200's as it's tight and short, they also do not like you drifting.

If you are just after a bit of fun with no worrry of police then Chaos organises regular events at the Llandow curcuit im not sure what their web addy is though !
They are very popular and always draw a varied crowd.

The other option would be Fairwood Airport on the gower ?

If there are enough people interested then im sure we could get access to it for some balls out time trials ?

i have pm'd chaos on the WPCE but he hasnt got back to me yet, its a shame that all the drift days are over the other side of the bridge. vidal if you could sort something out or use your connections with the owner at llandow to maybe arrange an sxoc day at llandow or something, that would be cool. iirc if we had 25 people to go then it would work out at 80 beans per car, just like chaos has done ...just a thought:thumbs:

It's not worth organising an sx-oc event when Chaos already hods regular events though.

If everyone wants to do the Llandow thing then i will get in contact with him about it :)

It would have to be money up front though directly to WPCE.

i know that he may organise another one soon (ears were burning as i was leaving llandow on saturday) and thats the general idea in the wpce. it would be nice if we had and 200sx day there as i could see how other people drive their cars.

Ahh ok you would rather it be soley people from a 200sx background on track :)

I can see where you are coming from mate

Lets see how many people are up for the Llandow thing first then :)

Even though the bus stop was entertaining on Saturday at Llandow and they didnt stop you dirfting, at the same time they didnt like it. I was told off, as was Irish and I'm pretty sure a few of the beemer drivers got it in the neck too.

If Fairwood is a big open space I personally would be more up for that. A load of cones, plenty of 200's and the entertainment when driving as well as spectating will be great! **** it, with a load of us, we could create a time trial track in the morning, a mini TotB, and rearrange for some drifting in the afternoon.

I can imagine it would be cheaper too!

Has anyone got any GPS based timing gear, or know if we could hire it then we could all do 0 to 60, 0 to 100 and quater mile times

(I need to find my times out in the dry  )

As some of you may know I'm slap bang in the middle of building my dedicated drift machine, its currently with Owens Fabrication getting a 24point custom cage welded in place. I'm looking for places where I could run the car in when its built and finding places around here is rare so if any of this works out then I may be up for a few drift days in and around South Wales in 4 months or so. Would I be able to crash the party with my GTS... it will be powered by an ex-Butuz SR20DET (not that much will remain from its days in Andrew's hands ;))

The more the merrier in my book:thumbs: But the organiser/s would have to have final say
Can't wait to see the skyline when its finished

I tried to make the time, but it appears fairwood is now used daily (according to the link Vidal provided above)?

I am willing to organise this if someone finds a potential venue. I will approach the owners

Maybe somewhere over the other side of the bridge if Wales does not prove fruitful?

There is a possibility that SW-CC will be arranging a 'Trax'm style event at Pembrey later on this year. One of the sections I will be investigating is drifting. It porbably won't be all day but maybe I can sort out say a 2hr session of drifting during the day for people to have some fun taking part and watching??

Quote from a news source I found on the internet:

Although Swansea Council owns the airport they are bound by the 99-year lease held by Roy Thomas's company, Swansea Airport Ltd, allowing Fairwood to continue as an airport.

At this time, Swansea Airport Ltd plans to keep the airport open for general aviation and charter flights, police helicopter and Welsh Air Ambulance services.

***What are our chances? :wack:

Yes BUT

they charter planes through there and they do not frequently fly from there ;)

The Helicopter section is well away from the area we would require ;)

If we can pay them the amount of one or two planes landing then we would have ourselves an airfield to play on :)
