We have just received a large batch or very sexy light weight S14 pully kits. They replace the original water pump, alternator and power steering pullys. They are significantly lighter than the originals but more importantly they look fantastic  :notworthy.

They come with fittings but Ive left them out of the pics for artistic purposes ;)

I hadnt sorted the GB thread when I posted the above ;) I dont know if there would be enough demand for the S13s, we buy 100 sets at a time!

Bren you arse, now every man and his dog will have a set. At least i have the GReddy on them, not worth £100 extra though

Ive got a bottle of Tipex, its no prob to write 'GReddy' on them ;)

I've been searching for lightweight pulleys for the CA for months, now. NOBODY IN THE WORLD makes them, as far as I can see. I think that's mostly because the CA wasn't available in the USA, so...UR didn't get their act together.

How much would it be for a short batch to be made up of S13 ones? Stock pulley is heavier than god!

Our guys would only make 100 sets at a time. Ill see how viable it would be :)

Seeing as they are about £100 cheaper than the GReddy kits, £85 isn't a lot for a mod and nothing else is available for the CA I think it should be viable, should do proper market research before you invest several thousand pounds in a product.
Maybe start a potential group buy and if you get enough deposits (50, 75, whatever you think is enough) order 100 sets.
Hopefully I've just planted the seeds of a nice idea in your business mind :D
I want pulleys like this on my CA

Japan, Europe, NZ and Oz could be potential markets for these too I suppose?

Out of interest how much do these weigh and how much do the standard pulleys weigh?

Edit: I've just seen the group buy prices  bloody hell do they get cheap if we get a good group buy going :smitten:

For the dumbasses amonst us i.e. me. What are the advantages of these ?

lighter so require less force to achieve the same thus slightly reducing engine driven load, and look pretty. :)

Whats involved in fitting these?
Worth a belt change at the same time?

Also, How long would these take a competent mechanic to fit?

Depends if they need to take the rad out to get at the crank pulley. If not...about an hour, tops? If they do...mebbe 2? Or...if you're Nissan GB working on a brand new car...3 days.

Car will rev more freely with the lighter pulleys. Main weight advantage is the crank pulley, the other 2 are mainly for bling.
They work very nicely in conjunction with decat/lightweight flywheel. :D

Hu? The kit replaces all the pullys execpt the crank one.

WTF? They're fairly pointless, then. :wack: Engine bling purposes, only.

If you ditch the original crank pully and its dampener then you run the risk of accelerating main bearing failure as the twisting motions of the crank as its put under load wont be ironed out and will transmit straight through to the shells.

But we can supply crank pullys if you really want one :)

I dooooo...but for a CA. :P Surely they can be manufactured with a harmonic damper (rubber ring), just like the OEM one but made out of billet, rather than lead?

Lol, lead :wack: that's funny :D

Disagree with the opinion that the crank is the only one worth changing for lightweight :whip: but these three could be changed in about an hour and it's quite simple :) might be worth changing the alternator and PAS belt while you are in there

I think the crank pulley is the one where there's the biggest immediate gain to be had, in drivetrain weight loss.

But it turns slower than the others, probably the heaviest of the lot though :(

To replace the crank pulley properly you will have to rebalance the crank, the bottom end assembly will have been setup to work with the pulley of the stock weight - its not as simple as a bolt on part if its attached to the crank:no:

Reducing the weight of the faster turning ancillaries is a good thing. If I had an engine to put them on I'd be getting a set
