:D

Apologies for the worst pic ever, but it's getting dark outside, and camera phones are rubbish :)

It's an LHD, Euro Import 1.8i MX5. Totally standard for the moment, and it was an absolute bargain :D

A-Plan have done me proud on my car insurance too - mirrored my 7 years NCB across to my second car policy :notworthy

Just need to get myself a lid and I'll start turning up at some sxoc trackdays :)

Skinted this month though

How much of a bargain? ;)
Looks good, and I guess LHD isn't much of an issue on track.

£1550 worth of bargain, with 6 months MOT and Tax :D

Needs a cam belt change, some decent tyres (Ceat Spyders - they give nankangs a good name ;) ) and a bit of TLC, but it's good overall :)

If they're things you can do yourself and it's not a daily drive they're no big issue though, nice one :)

Cambelt change should be do-able, and parts seem fairly cheap :) Should be a right laugh - it's like driving an oversized go-kart :D

Congrats.

Donnington on Easter monday then?
You wont need any mods, just fresh brake fluid.

See thread above ;)

I've seen the donny thread. Not too far away from me either ;)

I'll hold off for the time being on booking (unless it's urgent) - need a Lid and to check everything is as expected first, and do some basic maintenance (oilchange, fluids change, cambelt etc) before I commit to taking it on a track :D

SR20 power you know it makes sense. LHD you can pretend its an ex works rally car.

I took it for the first proper drive yesterday - spent about 3-4 hours tanking round with the roof down, even though it was freezing cold :)

It has to be the most fun car I've ever driven - you can't help but love it :D

It isn't really that fast, but really feels it, as you sit very low down, and you feel tiny compared to other cars (your eyeline is at about the doorhandle of something like a focus) - the steering is soo direct compared to a 'normal' car, and everything is very responsive - steering, throttle etc

50mph round the back lanes feels like 120 does in an S14 :D

It needs some things doing to it though - a decent service, new cambelt, the heatshield on the cat rattles, and various bits of trim needs fixing back on properly, but nothing major... Need a rear roll hoop before I track it though...

You can fit a T25 and an S14 WMIC, with some jiggery pokery... Runs on standard management and internals at about 7PSI ~180hp...

Doesn't really need a turbo tho, tis plenty fun as it is :D

LHD isn't that much of a prob - you just follow the kerb line instead of the centre line... Overtaking is a pain, limited visibility past the other cars..

Great little car, I drove my mates over christmas and was really impressed with the go-kart handling.

A mate of mine had a BBR tuned turbo MX5. On standard internals at 7psi...was quite quick and really really good fun
