View Full Version : Donnington GP Circuit Easter Monday 17th April
I was going to wait a few weeks until I could confirm all the details, but as I have realised this is just after Donny Show (at Donnington Park) I thought I'd post and let people plan.
Donny show also has D1 and Camping Sat/Sun - SXOC thread clicky (http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=189373)
This event is a full-day trackday on the Monday 17th April.
The event will be run by Book a Track. (http://www.bookatrack.com)
I've convinced a few people already, there should be a good club attendence.

I'm probably in depending on funds, thought i was in Ierland but thats the weekend before although i do have that niggly feeling in the back of my head saying i'm already meant to be doing something but i always get that:annoyed: Wont be going to Donny show though:no:

Yup, normal BaT day, I'm just lucky enough to get some advance notice of dates so you wont see it on the website yet,

This event is a full-day trackday on the Monday 18th April.
Expected cost is TBC but will be under £200, likely to be £175, with a £10 rebate for SXOC members after the event.

Monday 18th April err the 18ths a tuesday???
Deffo monday, that will be the 17th then ;)
Camping for Fri/Sat/Sun night is £20, anybody just arriving Sunday may get away with free camping (dont hold me to it) as I cant see them checking Sunday night when the show has finished - they wont be expecting people to just camp sunday night.
Thanks Damo

I've never done a track day either Jim, so I wouldn't worry :D (I may try and sneak one in in March though ;) )

Youd be out of your depth driving miss Daisy :p
Youd be out of your depth driving miss Daisy :p
Thats it, put me on the list...
I might have to bring the works van though as no doubt bren will be having gary work on one of his assorted cars so my car wont be sorted :p
Could make this one myself:)
Right, things are moving ... but to get a deal we have to move fast.
Chief, sorry you were minutes to late for me chatting to bookatrack but I'll see what I can do.
ok sorted the bird at donny park but she's stung me for a bank holiday surcharge (sommat to do with having to pay the medics, marshals and recovery guys more)
anyway, I want to honour my original deal as close a possible but the absolute best I can come up with is this :-
first 10 places only @ £195 with a £20 rebate for SXOC members assuming you get 10 or more booked up for that day.
after 10 places are sold the price is going to have to go up to £225
I cannot hold the first 10 places for you as they go on a first come first served basis BUT if you give me the list of BaT usernames for the 10 SXOC members I will HIDE the event for 48 hours (to everyone by those 10 people) to give them the opportunity to book up first before "going live".
I hope this suggestion is of interest and I trust it reflects my appreciation of your/the clubs business.
let me know your thoughts
Jonny
BaT
PS we have been warned it may end up being the GP track rather than the national - I trust this isn't a problem

ok added the first 9 on your list. if you can get all 11 to pay up in 48 hours they can all have it at £195 with the £20 rebate.
anyone paying after that at £225 can still have the £20 rebate, too.
Jonny
Right guys its down to you, PM's on the way.
i'm still in Kev. can paypal the money whenever necessary:)
i'd really prefer the GP track, but i guess we'll just see how things go:)
thanks for the effort you're putting into this:notworthy
So what do we do?
Er ... Dunno, I expected it to be in the BaT basket ready to pay for ... I'll ask Jonny as I checked and it wasnt there.
AND....... IT IS THE GP CIRCUIT !!!
Theres nothing in my basket
Which ones the GP circuit?
GP = big circuit. (With Melbourne loop / hairpin)
OK, for the usernames listed we alone can see it on the calender, book in the normal way.
Jim/Stimpy register, send me your BaT usernames, I'll unlock it for you.
Read the PM, Im definetly going Kev!!
Just need to pay :D
So the track turns left before the pit straight and then loops back on itself rather than going right, left and down past the pits as usual?
What date is it, I cant find it
Ah, logged in, 17th April?
You have 48 hours, otherwise 10 randoms will get the £195, £175 for GP Circuit (with after-event rebate) is fantastic IMO :D :D
Yes, you must log in to see it, hidden to all but SXOC usernames above :D

I hate to ask but what exhaust have you got?
We do a range of decat silencers but the most effective are a ton.
sounds good
We were conteplating sticking a cloth in my exhaust for the noise test :wack:

I'll sort the rebates, I'll do the elvington ones soon.
sounds good

If you are going to do lots of track days it may be worth considering a different exhaust.... otherwise it may well be silencers and bungs for you young man :wack:
We were conteplating sticking a cloth in my exhaust for the noise test :wack:
You laugh, I DID do that at Japfest last year :wack:
A Decat silencer wont restrict power and should bring your noise down.
Me and Ste have both had extra silencers welded into the current exhausts.
He did, I saw it with my own eyes  :wack:
You laugh, I DID do that at Japfest last year :wack:
Barstewards clocked my fiddling though didnt they :p
I think I'll try and make it to this one, I didn't realise easter was in april, I thought it was march. Should give me enough time to finish uprating my suspension, brakes and cooling.
Any idea when it'll appear on their normal calender?
in 48 hours ...
Register on BaT tell me your username, and I'll see if I can wangle "another" cheap place without feeling like I'm taking the pee.

Funnily enough its ... frisbee.:p
I was wondering as I was off skiing next week and didn't know how quickly they fill up.
I wonder if I should add recovering from broken limbs to my list of tasks.:wack:
Yay! thanks for the heads up kev, thats me paid:D

If nothing else check the trackday diary, I try to keep that updated at least once a week, and its what people have booked, not thinking about.
Motorsport section is busy at the moment, look at all those stickies :wack:
If funds allow I fancy spectating at brands afterwards, but I'll be away from home from the friday so might not be able too.
S13 should have coilovers by then, and more sorting, I expect (or at least hope) it should do fine  Did very well at weekend considering its not far from standard, LSD, brakes, FMIC being the only mods really, dount its 200bhp.
Ah, thought you were partaking at brans...
Don't think i should push for both but will think about it...
Ah, thought you were partaking at branDs......
Not unless a lottery win is incoming :wack:
I'm just doing my job as motorsport mod, I would love to go, Brands has been one of my favourite tracks for BTCC and single seaters in the past 10 years, I love to sit on the exit of druids and see 90% of the Indy circuit :notworthy :notworthy

Jim, were you number 11?
Did you have to pay £225 (with £20 rebate afterwards) as the first 10 bookings were £195 with £20 rebate?
looks that way, should i be cursing my misfortune then?
Just seems unfair, I'd like everyone to pay the same, I'd happily give you £3 on the day, if the first 10 all did that you'd end up with it £3 cheaper than everyone else :wack: .
Deal I haggled for was for 10, as thats the numbers I was hoping for, another excellent SXOC turnout :notworthy
Its alright, everyones renewals have just gone up by £3, that way they can pay for my fuel too ;) :p
Its no biggie, ill just whinge moan and complain through the day :wack:
I think Stimpy will be number 12 too, he wanted to book but it took till lunch to unlock you, him and JRTuning, with 9 already booked JR got there first .....
Ive sent them a cheque, how do I get a £20 rebate??
After the event, I give a list of all in the SXOC "group", then you get £20 bat-credit.
I've done this for Elvington, which was £10 rebate, it should hopefully come through soon. The rebates can only be used for your next trackday, not cash, its BaT's way of trying to make us come back for more .....
Everyone who pays more than 28 days before the event can have the £20 rebate, it was just the extra discount I wangled for the first 10 that was limited :( and to be honest that was due to BaT estimating the cost at £175 then being stung for extra bank holiday charges at the circuit so doing there best to keep it close to the initial estimate.
Even the current £225 price is £20 off !! after another 10 book it will be £245
Pretty much why i didnt mind when i saw the price, i did notice before i paid :)
Kev, are you a born worrier? You did good for wangling the discount anyways for the first 10 :)
Kev, are you a born worrier? You did good for wangling the discount anyways for the first 10 :)
Nope, but I like to try my best for the deal for everyone  My budgets are often very tight and these things matter to me
To be honest, yes, yes I did :D
http://www.wapa.gov/es/pubs/esb/1998/98Apr/Graphics/wind.gifhttp://www.spartanband.net/images/kids/trumpet.gif
I've decided to go on a "practice" trackday at castle coombe, just hoping to not get lapped by the 2CV too many times.
Still at least I shouldn't be overtaken by a 12 year old on a 125 this time...
Will the rebates show up in our bookatrack accounts the next time we book something kev? So £30 off the next one? or can we save them up to use on the expensive tracks?

You can spend you BatCredit as you please, mine will be going towards the other 50% of Spa I havent yet paid. Spa's batcredit may end up waiting till 2007 to be used, I predict bankrupcy :wack:
Bankruptcy:eek: Hopefully I'll have sorted my finances (some finances) by the time Spa's happening so that i can tag along:nod: But at the minute its no go cos of a euro trip in july. mmmmm alpine roads:smitten:
Bankruptcy:eek:
lol, not quite, but certainly feck all cash for anymore trackdays after Spa + 3 days at 'ring.
http://www.nuerburgring.de/home/index.html?L=1
Spa trackday then ..
25-lap ticket car / motorcycle 305.00 € for Ring
25 laps of the ring is alot:nod: i did 3 then felt like i'd given death a bit neck on so didnt do anymore:ghey: You'll also go through lots and lots of brake pads, every time you get back to the cafe they'll be smokeing like feck:nod:
Well, 3 days, maybe I'll manage with 15

1 Set for Spa, another set for 'ring, and a spare set :wack:
We wont all need a spare set, We'll coordinate something, I might put together a spares box, with various gaskets, pads, belts, samco and jubilee clips

How many of you would be interested in some Tuition?
Cheaper than the usual £20 for 20mins as we will be booking a instructor for the whole day - 7 Hours.
3 Hours are already taken (if theres enough) 1 each for Ann, Bren and myself (2x30mins or 3x20mins) leaving 4 hours and 10 people.
I dont know if any of you have already booked instruction with BaT?
This instructor will be nothing to do with BaT, but fully qualified, and very familar with the 200SX. He usually can be found at Croft circuit, also at Oulton and the caterham accedemy.
09:00 Driving begins

I'm your instructor for the Donnington day. thanks to Kev SM for sorting this.
I'm ARDS licenced through Croft, as well as starting for Palmersport at Bedford & Oulton. I also instruct for Javelin trackdays and do drift instruction for Drift Academy.
I've circuit raced Caterhams & sprint/hillclimb, both very sucessfully. I'm having a year out of grip this year to have a go at the new D1 series.

*Request from Bren/SM*
Has any one who is coming down got some spare strut top nuts? Apparently they are the same nut as are used on the manifold to head studs as well. If you have can you bring hem down as they have manged to mangle some of them when fitting new struts to the skyline :smash:
On a side note Ill be down tomorrow being pit crew to any one who needs a hand on the paddock with a decent array of tools and bodging ability

right i did cancel the trackday as i came down with man flu and also got the wrong silencer from demon tweeks but now back on again and may need an exhaust bung for the apex exhaust system so would anybody be able to take one down? i know bren usually has one but need to KNOW there is one for my car if needs be.

I have packed a die as well, 10mm x 1.25 pitch, metrid fine, so if the threads need cleaning up I can do it for him. Also some new bolts in case the studs are beyond saving, so I think all bases are covered. If it's the rear struts they are 8mm, normal pitch, so I need to know soon.

I will have one. My car was 92 db the last time it was measured at track so should be well within the noise limits, however, if for any reason my car magically becomes louder then I would reserve the right to take it back

Nice car, nice colour, even my wife was impressed, she only normally likes single seaters. Thanks for letting me have a poke under the bonnet. Chris, silver R33 GTS-t We only booked 1/2 a day, we are at Oulton on Wednesday, and one of our dogs is expecting anytime soon, so we didn't want to be too far away for too long.

what a top day:D :D :D :D Donington is a fantastic circuit. still buzzing from the Craner curves. my brakes have been making some dodgy noises though;) not much pad left anywhere:eek: drove home using mostly the gearbox to slow down
few thank yous
Howard (Chief) for having a spare set of rear pads after i killed mine in the morning:notworthy .
Swebb and Lee for replacing said pads:thumbs:
Bren for the passenger ride:thumbs:
and everyone else for being there and contributing to what was a top day:D
Nice to see you all today
An excellent but frustrating day...........
Lowlights... brakes starting vibrating from pretty much lap 1, meaning the brief time I was on track (3 short sessions) I couldnt use my brakes anything vaguely approaching effectively..... I have a feeling the discs are not sitting properly on the hubs despite my best efforts, but with Grahams help from Top Gear NW I should get this sorted for the future :Plug: .
My ragged ass driving :o I'm too out of practice on track and didnt have time to find my feet today.... too fast into corners and too slow applying the power through the corners :wack: Need to be more polite too, I was a little keen when overtaking :o
Stupidly, getting far too close to the ass of a BMW as I thought he had pulled over for me when he really hadnt.
Too many guys struggling with the draconian noise limits and getting thrown off track.
But lots of highlights.........
Seeing everyone from the sxoc pitch in and help anyone and everyone who needed it without being asked :notworthy Such a selfless and helpful bunch of people you rarely come across
Car felt excellent except for the brakes, especially with the A048's ;) with the brakes sorted and the driver seriously uprated it will be pretty cool :D I actually dont want to change much anymore. And oil temps only hit 90 degrees :)
Finding out I could keep up with a GT3 RS on the straights along with some nice video footage..... I was a bit of a slow ass through the corners so he lost me there somewhat. New driver and brakes please.
Finding out that with semi slicks I can keep up through the twisties with lots of track day specials :D
Getting black flagged but then finding out it was because my mate had his phone in his hand :wack: And yes, he missed the briefing so didnt realise.
Cool cool track.

Chris, what kind of power are you running to be keeping up with an Ultima GTR? :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy
Awesome day, like Dr Bob I loved the Craner curves... was quite nervewracking taking it full speed for the first time. :D The weather wasn't too bad neither, waiting 'till we'd finished before it started pouring down, which was nice for all the guys with semi slicks and rally slicks  felt mine really made a huge difference and I was reaching my limits well before the car was.
Really need some better brakes though, would of pushed a bit harder than I did but for the fear that my brakes wouldn't handle it. To be fair though they didn't suffer fade but we're making some very odd noises and juddering a bit toward the end of a few sessions, which worried me slightly :wack:
Oh and apparently my car is really quiet on a drive by, was told you could hear my tyres over the noise of the exhaust :o :wack: at least I didn't get black flagged though like so many of the SXOC, even though both Porsche Caymans which seemed way louder than any 200 I heard driving by both got away with it
Had a great time, even Bren said my car was "quick" which coming from a man who owns the machinery he does made my day :D :D :D :D hope to see you all at another track day soon :)
EDIT - Get the pics up Stef
at least I didn't get black flagged though like so many of the SXOC,
even i got black-flagged:( got into the pits and the guy was very apologetic - there was that many 200s around they'd got the wrong one:wack:

Oh and a big  to Gary the instructor, I thought I was a lot faster and smoother after my tuition session :)
Yeh! Had an excellent day. I think quite a few people need Bren's new K sport brakes:wack: . A track to kill brakes it was. Got black flagged twice for noise limits. Found where the drive by microphone was and just took it steady past there:D . Can't believe how fast and smooth SM and Bren were:notworthy .
Thanks to SM for sorting the day out:thumbs:
That was brilliant and the car survived 100% :)
My brakes seemed fine after all the abuse :D
So i dont need brens new brakes :p
A decent exhaust for noise limits though, now thats an idea ;)
Nice meeting everyone I did, apart from mr Black Flag :( Had to wind down boost after that :(

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D
what an absolutley amazing day:nod: i had the best time in ages and donnington park what a circuit i was absolutely crapping myself the first few sessions being used to elvington with its wide runoffs and no change in gradient, but after a few sessions and increased confidence its so much fun its hard to believe.
low points for me were
getting black flagged numerous times for noise(including 3laps into my instruction)
spending a little too much time swapping exhausts between cars (it wasnt that bad actually)
and a few drivers that were less than considerate to say the least
lack of grip and balance from crappy and uneven sized tyres
too much brake fade
good points were
driving on the track :D i did about 120miles on track
making other people smile like a little kid when taking them for a ride(you know who you are:p )
the pure adrenaline felt driving round a proper race track like no other feeling
all the sxoc people there who were helping everyone else out in the true sxoc spirit :notworthy
bren lending me his exhaust system:thumbs:
watching all the top quality track ready cars going round
and eating a very nice lasagne and chips even though it was £6
jap tourist stef taking lots of pictiures

fantastic day, even though I was there purely as a spectator.
Did a £15 3 laps with the bookatrack boys in the caterham which was truly fantastic (me covets one of those), even though they had to get out the "wide body version" - cheeky bastids :D ...... although I should have expected it.
I t was great to see everyone pitching in as usual. Its been said before and no doubt will be said again, SXOC really is a "community" in the true sense of the word. Howard with his spare brakes, Bren lending and exhaust? top guy, swebb fixing said brakes etc appologies to anyone I missed, there was too much selflessness to mention.
The best bit was going out with Kev (SM). He was flying, the grip was awsome, the speed through the dip (is that Craner that your all on about) was jaw dropping and to be honest I think he was going faster than my earlier ride in the caterham.
We only came in when his engine decided it was time to start making tea withn the coolant - I do hope you've not damaged anything Kev.
Thanks Dr Bob for giving my brother in law a run out. He hasn't stopped smiling.
Lots of piccies to post once I have downsized them from 8mp.
p.s. Donington is a fine circuit, now I have my spare set of wheels, Ferodo pads, I can't wait for breaking my track virginity.

I was there and met a few ppl and said hello to the folks i know too... But as said before how the hell did those porkers not get black flagged for noise??? They were by far the loudest things on track worse than that ultima!
Couldnt stay that long though...
I must say though.. That fezza was pretty rapid and really well built too... And he didnt appear to be driving like a nob... Which is more than i can say for some of those tossers in the elises that on several occasions almost caused accidents by just pulling straight out of the pits while ppl were coming down the pit straight braking...
I'm home, just got in, no time to change the rad and head on to brands :(
I'm broken, and just swaping the read and setting off might not be the best plan - it overheated quite badly, I was going faster than any other time in the day and a good 20-30mins into a session, to there was lots of heat when the rad dumped all its water.
Thanks to Stone  Gave me a S13 rad about a month - 6 weeks ago, looks like I'm going to need it.
Footage soon, some good kills for an almost stock powered S13 / 10psi boost with mongoose & FMIC.
Cracking day, I was merely a 'jap tourist' (as per usual, cheeky bastids :p ) but thoughroughly enjoyed myself, so much so I felt like a little kid at times ;)

As stated further down it was Dr Bob, but from the people that were there only Bren got past me, when I was up to temp and pushing. Kev1nc in his Red S14a was the closest for lap after lap were were just about even, him catching me on the straights, but I have superior brakes, semi-slick tyres and harder suspension (10/8) so was carrying much more corner speed, and kept the gap to around 10 car lengths over the start line lap after lap.
Didnt get to take Nismo Steve out, apparently you had give him order to blag a passenger ride, but we didnt fit it in.

You were also carrying an extra 120kg :D
Watched most of my footage back, not as good as I hoped. Missed a session when I was pushing, and than past a S2000 :( Tape ran out just at the start of a 5-lap run with a race-prepped new Golf Gti, sequential gearbox, full cage ect. That was also mid-instructor session so didnt get that :(
I also seem to have missed, although I watch it again, the 911 GT3RS that got passed me but I could still see for 2 laps :D that both SteA and Bren (in skyline) were pushing hard. Got some good clips that show the speed differntial to a 400bhp/tonne caterham - 260bhp
I'll get it all edited later, see what I can sort.
"Kill" list also includes an E30 M3, Track prepped MX5, a few caterhams, 944S2 .....
It was good fun, I badly need new rear brakes now as I can kill a set of pads in about 150 miles.
I didn't get to meet many people as I was either driving or watching but the 200s are pure entertainment, some nice flames halfway down the pit straight from several cars and also when following.
The Caymen noise is apparently induction noise and I'm sure its above the noise limits but they weren't black flagged.
Glad you enjoyed it John, sorry you missed out on tutition :( my fault, it was actually quite hard to juggle it all in the end :(
Hope we'll see you again at future trackdays  with some Z32/'liner rear brakes ;)
Agreed top top day even though the morning was a little frustrating for me, its bloody embarrassing causing a red flag:o Massive thanks to Graham(TopGear NW) for the loan of his hot pipe bit:notworthy And i hope his mate (sorry dont remember name) has recovered from the shock of exiting the craner curves sideways at 110 :wack: :D :note to self: must buy some decent track tyres:D

A whole 14mins before anything passes me, and thats a 911 GT3 RS that only pulls 5 secs a lap on me :D I get lap a slow exige after passing it, about 6 laps apart, thats how slow he was, and the caterham at the start I also pass at the end although I assume he didnt go into the pits inbetween. Also pass Carls RB powered S13  as well as about 6 other cars. I do get past by 2 400R caterhams (400bhp/tonne, 260bhp) a faster Exige and an Elise as well as the GT3RS but I can live with that.

Must have been one of the other dark couloured S13's then... but I thought it had your rear wing, and SXOC sticker above the number plate.... cant see if it was a twin or single exit exhaust on the vid.

I was with my wife in a silver R33 GTS-t. Just wanted to say your lines in the vid you posted wouldn't look bad in a training film :) Very nice, if you don't mind me saying so. At the last count my missus said I'd done about 500 race laps at Donington, and God knows how many track day laps, so I feel half qualified to comment :) We had a great morning, (only booked a 1/2 day) Jane is having 10 days off work, and going to 2 track days in that time is not REALLY what she had in mind ;)
Thank you very very much, coming from a proper race driver, F3 IIRC, I feel very happy :D
Hello folks. First post. :D
Found this site a while ago when I was gonna get an s14a as a road car.
Was on track yesterday in the red fiesta turbo and gathered from the amount of 200's there that there would probally be an owners club involved! Mint cars
First time I've used bookatrack.com and was very pleased with how organised the day was. Good driving all round and very little hold ups, did 170 track miles on avreage road tyres and drove home.
Love Donny, only the 2nd time we've been on (co-owned car) . Had a good couple of laps followin a red 200sx (quick car) and various other cars. Was nice to know an old ford could stick with Exiges, gokartfields and other great cars etc.... just a shame we were still wheelspinning in 4th/5th on the bends and understeering all over the shop! Quick in a straight line but massive room for improvement on the bends. Cant wait for a baffled sump and get our full slicks on. Got a good engine just need someone to set up the handling now.
Favourite cars had to be the Porker GT3 RS, Ultima and Radical. Full on track cars.
Might see you again some time. Great pics BTW. :D

LOL .. Have you forgotten Elvington on Standard suspension already :wack:
I still have shite all power - below 200bhp for sure, yet have extremly sticky tyres, and lovely 10/8 coilovers :smitten: Makes it easy to be smooth when the car does exactly what you tell it to do and no matter how hard you stamp on the pedal it wont lose traction
Great vids Kev
:notworthy :notworthy All thanks to you for lending me the camera Pete :notworthy :notworthy

some great vids there kev shows exaclty that it doesnt matter how much power youve got theres no substitute for being able to drive properly.
were you not getting anybrake fade at all? i was experiencing quite a bit of fade after about 10mins but was and although i was doing some very hard braking would i was hoping to be able to stay out there a bit longer in one go.
i was using mintex pads not the ds2500's i had with me though which is probably the main reason, and i only really seemed to be getting fade on the last corner coming down from about 135mph-40mph and the rest of the track didnt seem to bad
p.s i think you only passed me once and that was because i was on a cool down lap, although im certain if we were out there at the same time you would of passed me with ease

Too true, made me look like I was going backwards :o Am really, really surprised that that was your first visit to Donnington, from those vids you looked as if you knew the track really well, as said before the lines looked excellent

You're right and you may find this :ghey: but I'd rather underestimate them and have a really good day with a straight (ish:wack: ) car than overestimate them and end up in the armco

Maybe Carl doesn't want to have his car in bits all the time bent or broken. If it was his second car then maybe he'd think differently about it all :)

You've hit the nail on the head there. Obviously you have to be good enough to get the right lines, but one of the difference between a good driver and a really great driver isn't driver or car ability its how much 'balls' you've got in pushing the driver/car combination to its limit. Fear of big bills, wife, children, etc are great for increasing that 'margin of error' and slow you down.

Plus the shame of crying in front of everyone when I get towed back to the pit lane in a car with no front end :wack:
I'd like to think that I was competitive with the others around the track, can't remember any 200's other than Kev's and Bren's passing me with ease, but coming into the day I had no idea on course layout or what my tyres would be like so I wanted to get better as the day went on... which with the help of the instructors I know I did :)
BaT pics are out - well mine are at least -just log-on to book-a-track website :D £20 to download your entire album, mine has 44 pics.

My brakes are by far and away my biggest limiting factor at the moment, I was braking well before my braking points on a motorbike and easing off on the straights to save the rear brakes. A car should be way better on the brakes plus I was probably 20-30mph faster on the straights on the bike. I'm currently sourcing uprated rears but I may look at the fronts as well.
Redgate felt very similar on a bike and in the car, although I was backing the bike in a few times. The craner curves are petrifying on a bike and a lot more fun in a car.
Stage 1 power feels plenty enough at the moment and the car was so adjustable and predictable in the corners so not much to do there.
I really enjoyed Donnington  Gary was superb in his style of tuition and got his points accross effectively and calmly without making me nervous like the first guy at Brands did. The first instructor at Brands had the attitude of me just being another job. Gary seemed very enthusiastic about the whole thing and came accross as actually giving a shit. Very highly recommended and I will defo be using him again
I got little footage of Donnington but it seems I was lapping at around 89 seconds. Very close to Kevs flyer which seems to be around 93 seconds. Feck all in it really. The S13 is lighter and on (arguably) better rubber, the Skyline had more power and better brakes, both of which are negated to an extent by its additional 450kilos and the extra ballast of me and Bob ;)

Ive also got the in car vid of my second tuition session and you can hear everything that went on if you guys are interested and Gary doesnt mind me making it public?
I think i could have got a 90 second dead, my fastest was a 91 with a 120Kg passenger :D
Pity were wernt out together :(
