View Full Version : 10 cars stolen from my estate last night!
fecking theiving cnuts
it makes me want to find out who they are and kill them
10 cars, including both my neighbours, which made our family a suspect as i found out today from the prick i mean policeman who came round to question my mum and sister today while i was at work
they took all sorts of cars, punto sportings, new feistas, bmws, astras, all sorts! didnt touch any of out cars thankfully.
why cant people just earn an honest living like the rest of us rather than takinmg from old ladies who cant afford to replace there stolen cars!!!

Where abouts in Bristol was that, crime was always fairly high there when I lived there a few years ago. (99-02)
Gutting :(
They must have been pretty quiet to steal 10 cars with no alarms going off / waking neighbours etc
its not actually in bristol, a little town called midsomer norton just outside of it. theres NEVER any car crime in this town, which are why its baffled the police so much i think and thats why they are accusing anybody and everybody! my mum was informed that they have already arrested 7 people...............but have not enough evidence!
i think its an organised gang, with a wishlist, to lift that many cars in a short amount of time, without being seen atall!

 WTF!?
that has to be a gang/pikeys, no-one else would ever manage that....
Infact I'm more inclined to say pikeys in your neck of the woods. At least if you havn't been done you're unlikely to be any time in the near future..

Did they burgle the houses and nick the keys then?
they took all sorts of cars, punto sportings, new feistas, bmws, astras, all sorts!
 is it a low budget remake of Gone in 60 Seconds?
seriously though - someone's had that planned. did you hear any alarms or anything?
i heard nothing and my window was open all night, and it faces the road where one was taken. they were from all over the estate so it wasnt exactly all in the same area,
It wouldn't be called gone is 60 seconds if it took place in bristol, it would be called:
Gone in about 2 weeks even though it was parked outside the police station surrounded by policemen with policemen sat inside it
I'd be up all night in the window with a shotgun

Quite a few murders there though iirc :wack: :p
Sounds like an old skool one night boost

low insurance remake... sounds like nothing over a group 12 :wack:

which i didnt understand, theres my sx, a mondeo st200, rst, 350z, skyline r33 all that didnt get touched and easily noticable!
Anything interesting is going to have a security system that's going to be non-trivial to bypass, so will take too much time to nick, and therefore will probably have been ignored.

thing is, they took a punto sporting from 2 doors down, it has a full cat1 with proximity sensors that usually drives me mad at nights when cats walk by! and they managed this, without making any noise atall!
whompf, that's my theory blown out the water then.
OK, how about cars that aren't likely to have trackers?

that could be it. but if there good enough to take cars with a proximity alarm (im assuming there pretty damed good!) then surley a tracker wouldnt worry them either?

Bummer - They probably towed/lifted them away, and worry about alarms later on. Or they found a new way to kill a car alarm
OK, wild theory here, what about a HERF weapon?

Although I'm not familiar with the HERF accronym, I'm guessing that would be some form of portable (or even van mounted if you can aim it) EM style gun.
Steal the cars by frying all the electrics kind of thing... Theoretically that'll work on anything as you can ignore all alarms and probably even trackers.
Would just have to tow/flatbed the cars away afterwards.
Would either cost so much that those 10 cars wouldn't equal even a fraction of the cost, or if home made would need a big generator and 3.5 tonne van to transport it! :wack:
fecking hell
glad your SX is safe :)
Bit baffled how they did it though, they would have needed an arctic or something to load 10 cars onto it if they didn't bypass all the alarm systems
And the HERF thing would surely be a waste of time, all the electrics inside the car would be knackered so you'd need new ECU etc etc etc

is there a way of shorting the battery so the alarm has nothing to run on, or do some alarm companys have a "skeleton key" that would disable any alarm? something that would be kept away from the public eye?
HERF is High Energy Radio Frequency. Near enough man-portable at sensible power outputs.
It doesn't knacker the electronics, just crash anything smarter than a switch. You can get them powerful enough to completely fry the electronics, but where's the use in that? Just aim it through the window and take out anything intelligent inside.
All you need to do then is lift it out of the way and put it somewhere safe.
Pull the battery, reconnect it, and everything should reboot and come back to life, at the worst some stuff may need reprogramming, but then you've just got yourself a free car, so you can live with that and deal with it at your leisure.
norton eh, usually the most action that happens over there is the fights outside charcoal grill, its a prety small town though i guess gangs are targetting less populated areas for easier steals? sucks.

 hmmm thats a strange one..... ive fitted a lot of alarms and i can understand alll the other alarms but the cat1 would need the battery disconnected to stop it, and thats with bypassing the bonnet pin.....
Bloody hell, theiving shites:whip:
Must have had some talent at nicking if they scooped up that many in one night:smash:
Most decent cars (and I use the term loosely) are stole by burglary as they're too damned difficult to steal:eek:

i think it has to be a inside knowledge job as im an alarm fitter and have access to what wires to tap into to fit thatcham alarms and leave nothing but black wire from it so you either have this knowledge which is a online database or remember hundreds of colour codes.
wouldn't take much to disable whilst in but outside?
there used to be a scam with the tv control watches being taught to disable alarms unless it had a rolling code
