View Full Version : Bath Xmas meet
Right, following on from here

we now have an approximate location :)
Now we need to narrow it down and pick a date. Again I can keep guessing until I get the right one but some suggestions might be better :D Is a week day or weekend prefered?
I was thinking a pub in Bath near the A46 would be easiest for most to get to? Any specific suggestions from Bathonians (Pete)?
Near the A46... so one in Batheaston or Bathford? Not really my end of town, but there's a couple that spring to mind... better find out which one has the biggest car park! I can think of several my end of town (A4, Bristol side); the Boathouse, the Globe etc etc :)

boathouse is better, globes speed bumps catch me everytime! fcuked my exhaust!
I just thought near the A46 would make it easy for those coming from the M4, as well as anyone with a poor sense of direction or inability to read a map coming from Bristol along the A420, or for folk coming up from Somerset (not sure about that one, my geography south of Bath can be a bit wonky) :wack:

im not fussy but i know a lot of people would prefer a weekend, possibly a sunday?
My vote is for the Globe or Boathouse as they are on my doorstep, but we can go further if people want.

I dont mind where it is as long as it aint to far, think me and ferrett are looking at a 2 1/2 hour drive at the mo.
Adam
Somewhere near the A46 would suit me better....I always get lost on the roads through Bath :wack:
I'm also for a weekend, but daytime as all my evenings are booked up now :(
Oh....and can we make sure the pub we go to has electric this year ;) :D

Any where on the EDGE of Bath ;)
My sense of direction seems to turn off as soon as I get about 1/2 a mile in :wack:
The 2 locations (A46 or A4) are both fine with me as I vaguely know my way through them :D

A46 side of Bath would suit me.
So, how does this Saturday avo grab people? :)
Can someone with an idea of pubs over that side of Bath suggest a location? Think Pete mentioned somewhere at the meet on Saturday?

That is an utterly rubbish excuse of the highest order, if I may say so... :p
Not if you had to sit on the shite bench seat for 360 miles each week. Its actually lifted on the driver's edge by two planks to stop me falling against the door. :p The replacement seats are soooooo

Fairly good chance I'll see you then
Fired the 200 up earlier for the first time in a month, wouldn't know it's been sat there it started so easily :D
(well, OK - I did have to charge the totally flat battery. But what do you expect from a race battery :wack: )
That's why I got a solar trickle charger. Found the battery was as dead as a dalek after not being used for less than a week in the recent cold spell. Works a treat.

well after sorting a minor problem im all ready for tomorrow. see you guys there:) Allan
Any of you guys going from Bristol? I am shite with a map and likely to get very lost:confused: . I am near the Clifton Downs, thought it might be quite cool to meet up there and then shoot over to bath, this is obviously only going to work if people are interested, just post back if you are, thinking of leaving about 1330/1400:thumbs:

this is telling you lot the obvious - But I won't make it! :wack:
That sheared stud was fooking well stuck in there! we took to drastic measures to get it out again! And you can expect a random Nissan dealer bashing post later when I've finished for the night ;)
Anyway, going out to grab some food for myself. Then back out into the middle of nowhere to continue on the car :)

The 4 of us had a good time
The 4 of us had a good time
So did the two of us, possible case of 'wrong pub' going on here:confused:
Oh dear
The 4 of us had a good time
Yeah it was good :)
Where was everyone else? We saw an S13 and an S14 parked in the car park but the owners never materialised
We even left out an SXOC calendar on the table, don't think we could have made it more obvious :wack:
Ahh Poo, that was me (rowey) and alan, we were both in the pub for about 2 hours, had drinks and food. Where were you guys, when we got there no other 200's were to be seen:eek:

Nope, we're all local(ish) so we didn't bring our cars. The one person who did came in his Citroen :wack:
We could see the bar from where we were sat, we were there from 2:30 until just before 5 :)

WRT our earlier conversation - I've realised I must be mental to have ruled out S13s on reliability and corrosion grounds when I'm considering an Alfa 75! :wack:

Oh arse, yea that would have been my s13 in the car park, was a realy nice pub, ive not met a lot of the guys thats probably why, met pete c briefly before, I walked through a few times to the loo, had a red T shirt on and ive also got red hair (cant miss me got tattoos plastered down my arms:wack: ) well ill meet some of ya next time!

:wack: I see the Crimbo meet was hugely successfull then :smash:
A bit annoyed I didn't get there, but things took longer than expected. Still have to do the finishing off tomorrow.
That should hopefully just mean sticking the Mani back on as I finished re-assembling the turbo + bits tonight. Just one of Bren's new oddly long water feeds to attach to the core and I'm away :D
Not looking forward to the traditional 3 hours of trying to get the hoses attached to the block though

Yeah it is a nice pub - great food too, if a little on the expensive side :smash:
I'm glad we all enjoyed ourselves individually anyway :D
Sorry to have missed people :( Short of putting up a neon sxoc sign we did the best we could to be obvious (calender on table and non-stop chatter about cars :wack: )
I'll try to sort something out a bit earlier next year, although those of us who did make it enjoyed ourselves
