Just got home from a particularly stressful day... discovered that
a) Since my revoked status of IT-responsible.. nobody has been backing up the server, nor updating the virus definitions.
b) We have 33,000 E-mails in the Administrator mailbox, wonder where they came from, Hmmmmmmm Mr. Klez....
c) We discovered a possible security breach involving ex members of staff and passwords which haven't been changed for 5 years..
d) In changing said passwords, we discover one of the servers (the very same e-mail infested one..) is b0rked beyond imagination. Double click icons... nothing. So when Exhange Server asked to have the services restarted for the password changes to take effect... Nada.
e) So.. we have no external E-mail or Internet services, WOOHOO!.. and to top it all.. we discover that the incompetent wazzocks who set up the network in the first place, only purchased a ONE USER HOME setup account from U-Net/ViaNetworks!.. ViaNetworks are currently stumped as to how we've been running a network of 25 computers, through a proxy..
And finally, I arrive home!...
To find a letter from my insurance company, telling me they've cancelled my policy due to the fact I haven't provided them with a report stating exact power figures.
Despite the fact I specifically told them I was being dyno'd on the 18th of August.
All hell shall break loose tommorrow.
