A easy question for anybody who has been to bedford autodrome....

How is the tyre wear there in comparisom to a real track like silverstone / donnington etc?

Thanks

Lennie.

Good thread Len, myself and Lee are also interested in this.

When/Why are you going? Me and Lee need to get our arses into gear and arrange something.

I have the chance to go a a cheap day with the bedford RSOC. I will book it up ASAP if anybody knows what the score is with tyre wear, if its harsh it kinda kills the cheapness of the day by mashing £500's worth of tyres.

Equally i might just pikey it on my standard wheels with whatever random crap i find behind the tyre garages LOL.

Been to Bedford Autodrome several times, but never driven on a 'real' circuit. All I can say is that the surface is as you'd find at a circuit, so I'd guess the tyre wear should be similar (i.e. much less severe than at airfields).

I used to work there, surface is good but apparantly it can be slightly harder on tyres than some circuits, but it will depend on your track configuration and driving style more than the surface. Plus you do tend to get a lot of track time there... Check your car isn't too loud before you go though, noise limits are very strict :ghey: (my S14 was fine on static test but too loud on the drive-by, quite common with turbo'd cars...) :censored:  :smash:

Bedford was ok, it is nice to drive on and tyre wear is much the same as any racetrack.

it is the airfield days that shred your tyres with that rippled concrete they like to make the surface of runways and tributary roads from.

try and get on the GT circuit, it is excellent. nice 1km straight:nod:

have fun
