:eek: the W*****s are testing new spec cams to stop people doing that unforgivable crime of speeding they've set two cams at a set distance and they will automatically do you when its worked out the average speed:eek: my old bloke just phoned me to tell me but hes always p****d anyone else heard this gossip:(

Been around for some time. M1, looks like they're installing the on the M4. Have a look at the ABD (Association of British Drivers) web site. Can't remember the url.:o One reason why I invested in an Origin blue i.
Don't the French do the average speed thing on some autoroutes to catch you from toll to toll?

Isn't that the SPECS system, there on the M6.
yeah the m6 roadworks were orig just out to get you when you go past but now theve cchainged to measuring the av speed.!:eek:

it's a good alternative however there can be problems:
if the cam is local, the coppers get sent the pictures of cars that hide the plate, if they spot you, they can demand to check your plate................... they find the mechanism, you're in court for more than a fine and some points
If your car has any unique features, you're fudged if they can prove it's your car
The cameras are that far apart, unless you know the distance then you've got to drive with the plate flipped up the whole way, i'll bet you'll find a pig or 2 on the route
One problem thpough, if say you're doing 120, first cameras marks you as going past, then between the next camera you stop at a maccy d's drive through, how do they prove you were speeding?
How about some strategically placed mud on your numberplate... assuming the rest of your car is dirty also .. :)
