Gave it a quick run round the car park and it seems waay too quick for the slicks as it just keeps spinning. I assume the slicks will need some heat generating in them before they start to perform properly.
Im hoping to race it at a few of the local clubs although seeing as most of the lads run 4wd I think Im gonna get my ass kicked big stylee!! LOL
Went to watch 1/5th scale racing yesterday. feck me, they are serious toys! Most of them were running discs brakes all round. And I mean proper discs, as in steel discs, drilled no less! They even run a hydralic braking systrem with little calipers and, get this, Ferodo brake pads!! They come with master cylinders and the lot! Mental :D
Are we going to see any Apex FMIC's and Brengoose systems developed for these cars :)
They look great fun. What sort of speeds can you get them upto. That one looks like it could give a nova a race. :D
Are they expensive ?
I might just have found myself one of the 5th scale motors with disc brakes etc at sensible money!! Woohoo! :D :D
However, to finance it one of the others is going to have to go. Anyone fancy a 1/8th scale 4wd Nitro rally car with twin disc brakes, three diffs, almost 50mph etc with radio gear? Its just had new piston, liner, clutch, bearing kit etc fitted so its all sorted and ready to rock and roll :D

how much - they look like fun :D
Yeah Bren, how much, always fancied one of those little beasties :)
Piccys, specs etc appreciated....
I want £220 for the 1/8th scale Landmax. As pointed out Ive fitted new piston and liner, complete bearing kit, new glow plug, new clutch and new carb ( I broke a bolt when rebuilding it after cleaning and you have to buy an entire carb as replacement  ).
The car has the .21 Kyosho engine and starts first pull from cold. I dont know how to comapre the speed but it really does fly. I went out with the 1/10th scale car in the pics above last night and although its nippy the 1/8th scale 4x4 beastie would wipe the floor with it! You never find yourself thinking that the car could do with more power and Ive always found it fast enough where ever Ive used it :) It does massive 4wd powerslides and doughnuts etc :D
My mums got a lurcher (Greyhound terrier cross, looks like a greyhound with terrier fur basicaly) and the dog couldnt keep up with the car on grass. On tarmac its quicker again :D
The only fault with the car (other than a slightly battered shell and scratched chassis as youd expect from an off road car) is that Ive loctited two screws in and cant get the feckers out. When I bought the car I immediately stripped, cleaned and rebuilt it. I used a thread lock that came with the car but it turned out to be mega strong stuff and its perminatly glued in two bolts that hold one of the steering uprights in position. Its not a problem as the car can still be stripped and they dont effect the operation of the steering but its a fault so Im pointing it out :)
The car comes with radio gear (Fubata) so is ready to go apart from 12 AA batteries and some Nitro fuel.
The car specs are:
Rally patterned tyres
Oil filled shocks
Double wishbone suspension
Front and rear discs brakes
Tuned exhaust pipe
Shaft drive 4wd system
Toyota Corrolla WRC shell
I cant get a pic of the car with shell as its in bits waiting for new o ring seals and the carb to come through but here are some pics that I took after Id rebuilt it:
