Colour is not what i wanted really, but i cant grumble as its a grade 4-4.5 car with only 38,000 miles and twaz in my budget. Its gonna take about 4-6weeks for me to see it but i cant wait,
:)

Looks nice, are you gonna get your hair permed beforehand? :D
247bhp + rwd has to equal decent car no matter who makes it :)
All cars look best in white as well of course ;) :o
Please tell us you are going to mod it, have heard 300bhp is pretty straight forward :D

luvly jubly
Which importer have you used???
Also, I've read somewhere that the quoted output of 245 odd BHP is actually a conservative figure.
The actual output can be anything up to 265bhp....cool.
Apparantly you can up the boost on these a bit and safely get some more oomph. I'll be lookig into all that when I get mine.
Roll on Saturday.
If you dont like the colour you could re-spray it whilst its in that spray booth!
Any reason why its in a spray booth?
:D

dont know what mods i will do to it, but 300horsies seems pretty easy with these mr2's probably get alloys etc. first as i think i will be pleased with speed for a while

Same in UK, the NA ones are 156bhp or 175bhp (depending on age) you can only get Jap imported Turbo's and they are 245bhp standard with uprated suspension and lot of gadgets (if your getting the GT T-bar like me way hay).

the thing i like about this car is its totally standard, no mods whatsoever, i like doing my own thing to the car. Its the gt-S model so its even lighter than the normal turbo's.Ive Never driven a 200hp+ car before, so its gonna be a fun drive home:)

The GTS is only lighter when none of the options have been specified (climate control etc).
You probably know this but the GTS was the stripped out car (no luxuries) you could spec it up to GT spec though but it cost extra.

Not if you like the car you won't.
Think about it: you're driving a high power-to-weight, mid-engined, RWD with peaky turbo power delivery, and you want to go messing with the suspension and wheel setups that Toyota spent millions perfecting?
MR2's are notorious for their iffy handling - but most of that's due to people slapping huge wheels and lowering kits on them, then wondering why the handling goes to pot. As standard they're pretty well behaved.
Was talking with someone (who works in race car prep) a while back about home suspension mods, and he says that he has driven dozens of MR2's with modded setups, and he can only think of *one* that was an improvement, which had been done by one of his race-prep buddies, and lots were actively *dangerous*.
I use my first MKIV Supra as an example - that had bigger wheels, koni adjustable shocks, springs, etc etc, and it snapped out on a roundabout with no warning. My 2nd one has stock wheels and suspension, and I can throw it around a lot more than I could the first one, and it just feels more sure-footed. It doesn't look as good, but I'd bet money it'd be a shed-load faster round a track than my old one.

I agree, mines staying 'as is' in that respect.
Besides the Turbo already has uprated shocks (Bilstiens I think) so you don't need to fanny about with it .

yip, i hear what you are saying, i recon mr.toyota with squillions of £££ is better at setups than me (a complete novice) i will be takng one thing at a time

(even happier when i get my 200)
So what are your salon opening hours, and how mich do you charge for a straight cut and blow-job :D

Insuring ours under the girlfriends name with me as a named driver. Both 25 she's got 1 yrs NCB - £950 fully comp - expensive but still cheaper than our best quote for an s14a (£1400)
Someone needs to sort out a 200 insurance scheme I reckon.
