If anyone ever had the smallest doubt that max Power is the sh1test creation to have ever existed on Gods clean earth, have a look at this.... Utter Sh1te (http://www.speeding.co.uk/acatalog/Max_Power.html) .

It really beggars belief that a magazine that started off as a fairly respectable car magazine has sunk to these depths.

I can't believe that folk part with their hard earned for this ****e...
who would feckin want a Max P fag lighter?

Anybody own the Beasts and other Max P vids? I got them for chrimbo last year and was gutted in the lack of content... what couldve been a pretty decent video was ruined by that twat Hans(?) spouting **** throughout.
Myself and 'Mr Bat' would love to meet him one night ;)

Have you noticed how there are less and less actual cars on the cover of Max Pampers these days? Just women. May as well just buy Penthouse and have done with it. At least Penthouse sometimes has proper cars featured.

Now you know why less of us girls buy car mags anymore!!!

Has anyone thought of doing a newsletter type thing for members featuring members and their cars etc? I know I am interested in seeing your cars and what you have done to them. I was grateful to Kristian for the photos he sent me of fitting his FMIC.

Sorry if this sounds stupid but I thought I would ask.

Hayley.

dearie me. you could see some over enthusiastic max power "reader" buying a lot of that junk and ending up with a spaghetti of wires sprouting from their cigarette lighter.

I wonder... does anyone have money to burn? We could buy a Nova, kit it out with all that junk, write a nice article about it, take photos of each item installed, and then burn the fvcker for the final photo.

£10 for a couple of poxy LED's?!?!?!!

That may be a pile of Sh1te, but they must be making a fooking fortune!

I had the idea a while back of a club CD comprising of piccys vids etc that members had taken at the various shows. We only need to do 1 a year and it would be a great for reference and quite cheap to burn a load of CD's. Whadaya reckon???

Group buy on…..er….um…..none of it

What a complete pile of horse manure  Don’t people who buy this cack to weigh down their already underpowered shopping trolley ever look at their ‘ride’ and think:

‘Oh my god, what the hell have I done, what could I have been thinking!? I must find a way of punishing myself!’

Or is that why they then ‘upgrade’ from a Nova to a Saxo? :D

anyone who buys any of this stuff should have a threatening letter sent back to them telling them to "stop being such a sad b@st@rd!"
the worst stuff is all the light up neon cr@p.
why make sure everyone can see your nova ? no-one cares !
(anger over now)

I have to agree with Steve, I used to buy the mag when at college about 8 years ago now and it used to have informative articles, project cars that took u step by step of how they built up engines, then modified them and took them on Rolling Roads.... now its just full of Corsa's, t*ts and a$$.

maybe we should contact Max P and ask em to come along and write an article about the Rolling Road Shootout?

then we could all spout complete and utter BS about mods our cars dont even have and give rediculous performance figures - then when they publish it we can mock them inexcusably!!

Well I've just bought a nice yellow one (it'll contrast nicely with my green car) and I've ordered some of those tastey under car neons too. They'll come in handy if ever I have a puncture in the middle of nowhere:D

I'm so glad they LAX don't appear on the links page anymore, was one reason why I took a while to sign up :D

Where's your Neon Kits?
Wouldn't you be better off with a Saxo?

 Getting mighty racked off with those monkeys now :(

Mate, that magazine makes sooooo much money for Emap. The 'journos' (pink or brown?) are all young boys - mad keen to work there, paid buttons and staff turnover is really high. There are loads of business managers, marketing twats, commercial managers, all with one aim - make cash for Emap from the Max P brand. Very successful they are too - website, Max P live, licensed products, Haynes manuals, etc, etc, etc.
The mag itself is jammed with ads and product - none of which ever gets a bad review. It is perhaps the purest expression of a consumer magazine which knows its readers intimately.

and their readers get to see intimate things :)

you're right tho.

i dont think the audience know any better to realise that their reviews are biased, anyway!

In our office, we take it in turns to buy MP each month because it's Soooooo funny!

Quote of last month:

'The naturally aggressive front styleing of the Nova is enhanced further with an airdam kit'

Flicked through the general styleing manual with Haynes in Halfrauds the other day and I hate to admit it, but it seems a pretty good book (If you want to stick neons on your car...)

I bought the very first copy of Max Power and continued to buy it for approx 18 months at which point it started sliding down the slippery slope so I only read my mates copies ;) Then they stopped buying it and the closest I get to readin it now is moving it out of the way in WH Smiths to get to Evo mag :)

As Alan says it is utter ****e but then its a commercial venture first and formost and what do you think pulls in the most cash, Max Power or Jap Performance (which is also ****e IMHO).

Pretty much agree on Jap Performance - I find it quite bland. Banzai is not a lot better. I think some of the Aussie mags look much more interesting from what I've seen of them - i.e they seem to be written by people with more than just a superficial understanding of the subject matter.
