I'm just curious about how it's where you live regarding social acceptance of 'smoking weed'?!
Here in Switzerland regarding some offical polls - every 2nd smoked it once (black nummbers say 2 of 3).
And how about yourself for those who want to take a personal statement?!
IMO it's comparable to alcohol, just more controlable if used reasonably.

I think its pretty socially acceptable for the majority of people ~I know~. I think the majority of people bar Daily Mail readers and the Conservative Party would be OK with it being legalised. At the moment its illegal though, but the law is relaxing on it with it being re-classified. Note, not being legalised or decriminalised.
Personally I've gone through phases of smoking and then not touching it again for ages. I don't bother now really and don't miss it. I've had some good sensimilla (W Widow, Northern Lights, Skunks etc) but most of the hashish they sell in this country is often highly adulterated s**t.

It's still illegal here but almost completly tolerated - also by the cops. Only when it comes to vote about decriminalisation they go out take out a couple of shops and plantation. As a fact in history farmers in Switzerland planted a lot of weed 'cause the fibers are very strong and durable.
There would be a lot less fights on a Saturday night at closing time if pubs sold weed IMO

Uses to smoke block every day but to be honest got to the point where the inability to hold a 2 minute conversation or lift my ar5e off the sofa bored me. Just wasn't enjoying it. Thought i'd stop for a few days and haven't touched it since (that was 3 months ago).
Don't misss it at all. Although V2002 is comming up so a 'small' bag wouldn't go a miss. :D

Yeah its pretty much acceptable round my area... Never had any funny looks or anything, just people asking for a toot lol...
The reason AFAIK for it being made illegal was becuase hemp was a far more cost effective option than paper made from wood pulp - hence it was destroying the paper industry, therefore ban the stuff.... This was from a reliable source...

Plus you had much disinformation spread over the years. People believed stuff like the Reefer Madness film of the 30's. Totally hilarious now, it features white middle class teenagers who turn from jolly nice individuals to murderous rapists after smoking a j.

Totally accepted where I am. I know more people that do it than dont. I quite like a toke but I dont want it legalised just decriminalised.
I wouldnt recomend being smoked up on a wet night and having to drive the 200 home though I can imagine it would be a bit dangerous!!
i dont think it would be legalised, you cant tax the stuff can ya? and our government loves taxes.. anyone with seeds could grow their own. And that would just not be fair to mr blair.
Far easier to keep the masses on beer and cigs..

Ahhh, but you can brew your own beer no? No one does is cos it tastes like sh*t and it's too much hassle, so we go and buy the nice taxable stuff in the shops which is instant beer. Not some floury pap that took 3 months to turn the colour of the thames and............mumble, mumble..........Aarrrrrrrrrgggggghhhh, great big wicker man punched me on the nose......CAIRO!!!!!!!..............the whole thing was made completly out of rubber....

I took my driving test stoned. I wasn't going to, but it would have been too weird.
I'm going to use it in court if I ever get done for DUI. Won't work, but it's worth a go.....:p

Used to smoke it.... Things started to go downhill after I was arrested for Posession, Intent to supply and Cultivation. I Gave up around 3 years ago, and am now a completly different person. still have a toke now and then, but as I don't smoke tabbacy anymore either, I have 3 drags and get more stoned of the nicotine than the Skunk:D I dread to think how much money I wasted on that crap tho, ahh well, I also dread to think how much I spend on beer now:rolleyes: :D:D

We got quite some people who only smoke weed but no cigarettes me being one of them
You say you're a totaly different person now. What changed except less chilling?
BTW maybe I should mention here I'm only getting 21 this year - so life experience is smaller compared to others but I always try to keep up;)
I never got on with it :( Tried it several times, along with other things, but still think I prefer nicotine and alcohol. That said, I see no reason at all why it shouldn't be decriminalised.
I was a regular gange-a-holic for about 4 years, quit about 2years ago just after i got my present job.
A workmate, also a toker found out the painful way that weed and heavy machinery do not mix, he blames his knackered right hand on the fact that his brain was a bit foggy from the night before and he just couldn't react in time :eek:
We both called it day after that and felt a lot better for it :)
Btw, Markio don't suppose you have the 'Bad News' series do you?

Oh yes! They are bad copies, the first one is the worst but 'watchable'. I managed to find someone that had them on tape so i recorded their recording. :rolleyes: They're so old i think there is an advert for Marathon bars in between!! :D

Regarding the whole getting mashed thing, i used to drink like a fish and 'smoke' every day for about 8 years. Me and my mates have had some of the best times EVER when we've been off our t*ts. It can get you into situations that straight/sober never would have done. Not that i can remember now!!! Ha ha ha ha! :D
I have the attitude that if you like it, roast beef, weed, beer, curry etc then do it. Health is an issue but it can't rule your day to day life. Allow yourself lifes creature comforts (Whatever they may be) as that 'incomming bus' could be just around the corner.
I've just calmed down now in a lot of respects. Calmed down, not given up! I'm not ready for the box just yet.

I must admit i do tend to do it fairly regularly but dont smoke normal cigarettes. I live in a house with 3 other guys and they disapprove of all that, so obviously im the butt of all the junkie jokes!!
I dont feel that much worse the next day but what does piss me off is the constant questions of "you look rough, out on the beer last night" no i was with your mum :)

If its used in the right environment, and in moderation, i dont have a problem with it..... just hate it when ppl go too far and make complete W*&*ERS of emselves

mate I was sharing a house with, was stoned and started typing an essay, entitled "Aren't Teeth Great"
I've never smoked much, have the occasional session, much more fun when it's not too often.
Also it makes me really horny, and that's not a good thing when you're not getting any:D
I used to smoke regularly years ago but wanted to stop smoking cigs to had to give everything up. Nothing wrong with a bit of weed IMHO, as long as its in moderation as I knew people whod get up, have a toot and then do sweet fa all day.
I have a very occasional j now and again now but drink a lot more beer than I used to!! LOL I honestly think that weed is the lesser of two evils when compared to alcohol but I dont want to risk taking up smoking again as a side effect :(
