For want of anything better to do I was looking at my Optimax cards - just in case i'd missed the ferrari ;)

One of the cards is for the Ambra. It has 12 bhp according to the card  Is this feasible? The card reckons it does 0-60 in 12 secs  Not knowing much about it, that seems pretty respectable for a sewing machine :D (& its top speed is 65mph, lol)

But, get this, it does 85 mpg  For a scary few seconds I found my self calculating how much I'd save on my monthly fuel bill if I drove an Ambra! Then common sense kicked back in :D:D:D

On the top of the card is 'Ligier' probably something to do with the ex F1 lot.

The car looks very small, about equal to 200 rear seats in the front.

505cc 2 cyl 2 seats. looks like a people carrier that went into the machine on a hot wash and shrunk. 12 bhp seems wrong though, maybe 21 bhp ?

Checkout their website:

http://www.auto-credit.co.uk/three_wheelers/ligier/ligier.htm

You can get it with leather & multi spoke alloys!

"GLX models have the added luxury of:"
leather trim in a variety of colours
christ...
wider exterior paintwork choices
wider paintwork? what?
multi spoke alloy wheels
Yes yes, please take the 3-spokes away .. do it now
driving lights
I know this means like, front fog lights, but when I first saw it I imagined the base model not actually having any lights
remote central locking
suppose that's nice.. who's gonna want to ride in it with you, it'll hardly move
rear wiper
christ, even my SUNNY doesn't have one of these..
higher specification stereo system.

These cars are truly awful and are more mocked in France than you would be in England if you drove a Reliant Robin. They're designed for the French market and its peculiar laws that allow you to drive a car of a certain size and of less than 400(I think)cc without a driving license:eek: You used to be able to get away with driving them unregistered and uninsured    but I think they've stopped that now:eek:

So basically, if you're spaceially unaware, unable to reach the pathetic standard to pass your driving license in France, are socially inadequate and have no mates you'd get one of these.

Of course you'd get lots of new mates waving at you (well with one finger at least) as you drive up a steep mountain road with a queue of traffic 3 miles long behind you with that 12bhp allowing you to reach speeds as high as 15mph, but hey who care:eek:

Sorry, but I hate the fecking things. They're driven by morons who shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the controls of a moving vehicle. At least in France you can seee why some people would drive them, but over here..... what's the point.

I also sat in one at the last Birmingham motor show and managed to pull the glovebox lid off, and break the boot on one. Not the best build quality there then:rolleyes:

So they really are 12 bhp then?

If the car's of the same standard as the website then it's all a bit frightening really :D. Will watch out for them when I'm over the water next month :)
