One for the Scottish

Just a short note to say that the SIDC have booked Knockhill near Dunfermline in Fife (15 minutes north of Edinburgh) for the whole day on Saturday 22nd October.

The circuit will be open from 9am to 5pm, with a 1 hour break for lunch between 12:30 and 1:30pm.

It will be an open pit lane event - you can go out when you want, for as long as you want.

There are NO noise limits.

There are no extra charges for passengers or even additional drivers[1].

You can even book a half day if you wish.

Not surprisingly, spaces are going very quickly at http://shop.sidc.co.uk where you can book on-line. You don't even have to be a member of the SIDC or drive an Impreza to take part.

We've got some very interesting cars taking part, including at least one Ferrari, some TVRs, Westfields, Caterhams, Lotus Exiges/Elises as well as some very fast Imprezas!!

Cheers SM  There's a trackday on the 30th october at knockhill for £55 (6 hours unlimited tracktime - i.e. open pit lane) too. Personally I think the 30th one is the better bet but this date might suit someone better (or if they want both).

Rgds,

sounds good, but it is very expensive :\ ... i suppose in relative terms its not, the littleferry race circuit (orinally designed for karting) costs 110 pounds for 8 laps .. and its seriously small ..... i still can see why people dont keep speeding etc. soley to motorsport venues at these prices..

I consider £100 to be airfield trackday prices, and £150 to be the norm for cheap circuits.
Its cheap IMO, £55 for the other one is exceptionally cheap !!!

Englands expensive compaired to Scotland though SM. Think about £45 will get you a full day of an airfield circiut (crail) for the day. You'd never pay £150 to go round KH though

£100 a day for KH is about right and the £55 one is a good deal IMO. I've looked at trackdays in england and IMO they are way too much, saying that there's no choice up here unfortunately :(

I've seen Crail vids :wack: its no Elvington or Bruntingthorpe.
We can go to RallyDrive for £25, you dont get Marshalls, Fire extinguishers, St Johns, the backup is just the other drivers

Next year we'll sort a Northerners and Scots @ Croft Day, its worth down travelling to (almost) Scotch Corner it will be a good day

I'd be well up for this as long as its not silly prices :)

But for cost of travelling, staying and £200 (approx) for silverstone the Scots guys are as well going the full hog and doing Nurburg for the effort, you'll know yourself how good Nurburg is  - By far and away the best trackday I've done for sure :)

Would be up for Croft as you said though.

I'm off to crail this morning though for £5 for a day on the drift figure of eight, who said Scots are tight? :D
