View Full Version : Turbo question
Hi Bren,
Glad to finally be looking to buy from you.
I have a question. I was looking to get a T28H to replace my standard turbo. I saw the S13 HKS GT Sports Turbine Kit GT2510 and I wondered if it was a better choice. Could you let me know what you think.
I also have many other things to get. If I post a list could you let me know what you can supply.
Many thanks
Hayley.
Ive no listing for an HKS Sports turbine kit for the S13 :(
A T28 will do you proud anyway, and you can always fit a 360 bearing to it if you want to run loads of boost :)
If you post a list of what you want then Ill price it all up and check availability for you :)
Hi Bren,
Saw it on the website ..
http://www.apexperformance.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=120_130_135&products_id=120
Mmmm, interesting ;) The HKS guide Ive got has a sort of listing for a S13 GT kit and that must be why its on my website. Looking at it now I think that it doesnt actually cover the S13, just the PS13 which I think has a SR20DET engine.
Ill check with HKS tommorrow but I think Im right this time round and that I will have to remove the kit from my website. :)
Sorry. I'm the person who always causes confusion.
Can you sort me out with a T28H turbo with 360 bearing?
I am also going to be wanting:
Exhaust manifold
Iridium spark plugs
Samco coloured hoses
Supra spoiler
17" BK Racing alloys (BK405)
Tyres if you do them (Yok AVS Sport)
Intercooler when I decide which one to get
Associated gaskets for above fitting.
For the moment that is it I think.
Thanks for your help
Hayley.
Its not your fault, it was me that mistakenly put the kit on my website :)
Ive not got any T28s here but I could get one and have it stripped and rebuilt with 360 bearing etc. It would work out at about £500 outright depending on what I have to pay to buy a decent T28 to recon.
Or if you supply me with a basically sound T28 Ill have it stripped and rebuilt with a 360 bearing for around £345.
What sort of exhaust manifold do you want, a standard one or high flowing one?
Iridium plugs are £42 a set.
Samco hoses, do you want boost or coolent or both and what colour? If youre going for a MFIC at some stage then turbo hoses are a waste of money. Coolent hoses are £69 a set for the S13. Dont ask me why they are so exspensive!
Do you want a genuine Supra spoiler?
BKs with Toyos will be around £750 depending on what tyres you want (that price is based on 215x40x17 Uniroyal RTTs).
Ill price then with Yokos tommorrow if you want although I think Toyos offer better performance per pound than Yokos. The BKs with Toyos would be £800.
An Apex FMIC is £325, the fitting kit is £175. Or you can use the same fitting kit to fit a Saab intercooler.
Anything else? ;) :D

If you're interested the part no. for the GT2510 Turbine Kit for the S13 is 1104-RN040
Bear in mind it is basically a roller bearing version of the S14 turbo, the specs are almost identical, but it is a lot more expensive!
Thats the part number I kind of thought it might be but it says its for the PS13 as well??
They are £1700

According to the guide I've got the same kit for PS13/RPS13 is 1104-RN023.
Still a lot of money for what it is...
Thanks for all your help. Should have the money through soon so I can work out for definate what I want .
If you can let me know the difference in peice for the manifolds that would be great.
At the moment I have a standard turbo on. I am on my 5th turbo in two cars so I want to get the best I can that is suitable for me. If you think anything else would be better, I'm open to suggestions.
Not sure about the intercooler yet. With the A/C condenser there I'm not sure what is best.
I like the style of the supra spoiler so genuine or not I don't mind as long as it fits and looks good.
My hubby had the Yok AVS Sport on his supra and they were good. I want the best tyres I can get.
As for anything else. If you know someone who wants to come to sunny Devon to fit all this, send them down.
Thanks
Hayley.
P.S. Great prices Bren.
Youre wasting your money on a tubular exhaust manifold unless you plan to run loads of power (i.e. well over 300bhp). There are far more effective ways to spend the best part of 500 notes!!
Whats wrong with the one youve got?
Sorry I get completely carried away when it comes to buying things!
I was going to change the manifold because when I was going through my "I'm keeping the car standard" stage( which lasted till my hubby bought me a dump valve and superchip for my birthday)
I phoned Nissan for a price on a new turbo and they said that the manifolds tend to crack so if I was replacing the turbo I should change the manifold too.
I'm a trusting person!!!!!! and a complete idiot but as I said I get carried away.
Any suggestions on what to spend the money on instead????
I bet Nissan told you that!! LOL What a bunch of conning w@ankers (excuse my French)!!
If you tell me what your budget is then Ill tell you a number of ways that you could spend part and all of it. Ill cover just engine, engine and suspension, engine suspension and brakes etc etc :)
Hi Bren

P indicates that the car has an SR20 engine fitted, R = Fastback.
S13 = 1.8 Silvia, RS13 = 1.8 180SX, PS13 = 2.0 Silvia, RPS13 = 2.0 180SX.
mambatsu,
I gave up as someone said that they were available for less that that anyway. Cant remember who was doing them but Ill do a search if youre interested.
Steve,
It all becomes clear, thanks :)
Someone on the board can get (semi) decent prices for at least one of the GT turbo's for S13's I think, not sure who it was ?
