tried to be as fair as possible..
sorry to upset anyone.. but anyone who wants to come and watch is welcome, but jtuner insist no extra cars on the track as they are responsible.
dates are not 100% as yet but 99% says monday 28th is s14/a's and tuesday 29th is the s13 boys!

Cos my car is a mess at the moment and I need to save up for a couple of months to get the bodywork sorted ;)
I was possibly going to attend a Legacy Bruntingthorpe thrash today but it got postponed as the mag want to do a full day with 2 clubs at the same time rather than a half day for one club. Not sure how many participants there can be as it must take quite a bit of sorting (timing equipment etc) for the runs.
I think they normally do 0-60, 0-100, Qtr mile and top speed.
Would certainly be interested in attending, although people ought to be very careful when trying for their top speed. Going all the way through the gears to top speed creates a hell of a lot of heat and puts a lot more stress on the engine compared to say accelerating from a high speed cruise to near top speed.
If I remember correctly though, at Brunters part of the available space includes a straight followed by a wide corner that can be taken at a high speed cruise, before accelerating all the way in 5th along another straight. Hopefully this will provide a break in the amount of time spent at full throttle and provide a bit of a breather for cars mapped close to the det limit.
where is bruntingthorpe??? if its not to far i will definatly be up for this!!!! :thumbs:

just got this back today....

Not quite sure how to do this fairly but what i suggest is that everyone who is interested send a email to me with pics and engine spec so i can get 8 cars in various states of tune, i will try to get a few of each model if possible also. s12 to s14a.. need more than eight really, and i will ask J-tuner about the posibility of more.. i will obviously take the first come first served rule, so all above get priority.. but you have to understand if two people have the same car then someone is gonna loose out..
please voice your opinions on this as i want to be as fair as possible!

You could set up a poll so the SXOC members can vote for the cars they want to represent them in J-Tuner or something. Theres so many magazine suitable cars in this club, It seems like a tough call to select just 8 :( .
I'm sure they will accept more than 8 :nod: There have been a lot more than that in all the other group tests they have done ;)

just had my roof painted black and boot de spoilered so its not looking too bad at the moment. Fitting a nice big koyo rad (the ca18 one doesnt like the rb25)
Wish This could happen in January as I might have it running big power then. Guess I'll just run some more boost on the day if Im in :wack: ecu doesnt like that though, stupid skyline self learning pants :rolleyes:

Im interested in this for our S13 :nod: Ive just packed a larger turbo (GT3076) and some other goodies to send to Gary (the cars with him now) and we will be getting our Quaife 6 speed sequential box at the end of the week so thatll be fitted early next week. We have also now got nitrous running as anti lag :)

It was quick before. Its since had a high flow plenum, nitrous and larger throttle body fitted and will be getting the bits I mention above in the next week or so so yeah, its going to be fcking scary :D

I thought J-Tuner's thrashes were about getting a mix of cars in all different states of tune and seeing what they'll do, not having a competition?

they require a mix of cars.. from standard to full F**king crazy sh*t..
and yes it would be nice to see a few mantalist cars but as yet there are only what you see!

as for s12 and s15... cant get enough interest so nothing can be organised yet.. one owner of each group can call steve chalmers @ jtuner to organise somthing at another time..

Your a fair bloke. Shame couldn't get the S15's there. Holset1's S15 is really an S14A modified inside and out to look like an S15, does he get in? :D
Look forward to seeing who's on the list.
Have to agree with Barky here. My cars just really an overpriced s14a with a body kit so surely I could just run with them. :wack:

we did have untill Buffy broke another one :wack:
The S13 wont be ready. The new alloy plenum split in no time so we are ditching it in favour of the standard pleum and a larger throttle body. Sadly the larger throttle body wont be through in time :(

Aye, theres no way Im risking running it. If it splits again whilst flat out then its by by engine. Thats not to mention the throttle plate that doesnt close quickly enough or the tps sensor with a too narrow range of output.
Ive got a Tomei throttle body and adapter plate coming at the end of the month, Im going to run that witht he standard plenum. Im not risking my engine for the gains the plenum might give.
Im ok for either day, looking forward to it. Im going to check + setup this weekend :)
Was hoping to get a tubular manifold fitted along with a couple of other exhaust tweaks and the chip reviewed in time, but I don't think there's any chance of that happening now, so will have to continue with the current spec.
I'm going to be near Coventry Saturday night, so will most likely find a b&b for the Sunday evening before Bruntingthorpe. Anyone know of any good ones??

Question for the runners. Are we running stripped interiors and slick tyres (if you've got 'em) or are we running in normal road spec? Or is it up to each individual to decide how they want to play it?
Second question. I'm fitting all my stg3 bits this weekend, should I put it on the dyno on Monday to check everything's okay, or is that tempting fate? It's the only oppurtunity I have before the event.

Any thoughts on the weather guys? Its looking bad possibly even snow, would be very hard to get good times.
Ive made provision to fit the Traction control over the week end with a couple of club members but even so my toyo 225s are not the best for the power level (after slight testing I was getting wheel spin still at 3 figure leptons). Would appreciate it if I can do a run with something better if anybody is taking better tyres.
Would also appreciate tips from anybody, should I launch in 1st or 2nd what slip percentages, launch rpm etc should I stay at X0% throttle till X etc. I cant say im any good in wet conditions ;) any advice appreciated.
Bit worried about the weather too. Got traction control fitted and glad too as the car lit up the rears at 80 the other night. Fecking council still haven't gritted the roads even though they have been frozen for a week at least.
I'll bring a laptop to help with TC setup...although the battery life on it is a bit of a gamble.
Anyone getting a b&b the night before? I need to find a nice place to stay with a warm bar and pretty barmaids:)

i see alot of people are worried about times.. personally i am not that bothered about times but i would like a smooth fun day.. apparently someone recently did 150 on the top speed in fog with 20 meter visibility((nuter)).. and someone else on the same day left their gearbox on the airfield..

some idiot just went into the back of me at tesco:wack: thank god hes done hardly any damage (can say the same about his car though:clap: ) has just put a couple of really minor sctatches on it,slightly damaged the number plate surround and broken two of the bumper mounts underneath (missed the exhaust and has not even shifted the bumper out of position thankgod) to be honest you can hardly tell its happened without looking closely which is a relief:D
so i will still be at brunters on monday they will just have 2 photo the front of her:D am just glad its not bad at all it was only 2 days ago another idiot wrote of my brothers prelude i wish people would learn to drive properly:nod:

no folds or creases or nasty looking stuff.really only damage is a couple of minor scratches,small gauges on number plate surround,couple of broken plastic fasteners and those two snapped bumper mounting pionts underneath and its all in one small area you would only even notice if you looked very closely, everything is still solidly attached.reacon i could even fix it my self but am gonna get a proffesional to fix it properly eventually on his insurance:thumbs: :thumbs: :nod:

No, I've decided to run mine in full standard road trim, including road tyres (and sub-box), to give accurate figures. At the end of the day, that's how it normally runs, so I believe that's how it should be figured. :)
Anyway, just got it back from the bodyshop :D :notworthy :smitten:
Who wants to see a sneak preview? Or should I leave it as a surprise? It's nothing extreme BTW, just made the car a lot nicer :nod:

i would run mine with the interior but i dont have any:eek: when i brought the car the bloke had bined it all as he was building it as a track car leaving it with just the dash door cards and 2 seats:wack:
