Ok, so here's the situation, last year when I bought my 200 I was quite suprised to find out that my insurance was only going to cost an extra £150ish to up grade from my Honda's policy, making it £689 for a FC policy, I was just 25, had 5 years NCD, and live in a Medway post code. Bonza! I thought, next year they'll be paying me!

Well, in February, 02/02/02 to be precise, my 200 met with a small accident, a Bus shaped one! My insurers, Ellingfant, wanted to total loss the car but I insisted that since the engine had just had a rebuild costing £934.71 I wanted the car back in it's pre-accident condition, no problem said Trunky! and after £2251.07 my 200 looked like a new one again, Thank you Trunky.

The insurance companies decided to go halves eace on the damage, despite having an independant witness being in my favor, so, I'm now 2 years NCD lighter and with an accident on my record for the next 5.

August the 1st is policy renewal day and Ellingfant came up with £866.38 FC, , I was panicing as there's no way I can afford that at the moment, I've just changed jobs and gone from weekly pay to monthly, Ouch! It's been 5 weeks since I've been paid! I had resigned myself to sheeting up my 200 till I could afford the policy, every other insurer had quoted over £1100 except Flux's, who were closer with £919.

The I remembered a post on here about Firebond, so I gave them a call, The nice man called Andrew took my details, and then said he could reward me with full NCD and a fully comp policy with legal protection, but with a limited milage of 6000 (I do about a tank of juice a month) for as much as £560!:D  :D

WONDERBRA!!!

I thought!

So in the last year, I've had a great motor, a new side fitted to the car (front wing, door, rear quater, paint job and what ever wasn't painted was mopped to look like new) lost 2 years NCD, been branded a high risk and it's reduced my insurance by £306.38 talk about luck!

So If you haven't tried Firebond, do it now! and also thanks to the person who put the post on the board about them. You've saved my 200 from a dark gerage.

Thanks again.

an accident need only be disclosed for 3 years and you were very lucky to have the NCD reinstated - as this doesnt happen much for the under 40's. However, well done my friend, you've had a real result there!
