Hi it's Fester from Novaload.net, I see you've posted a topic about 'roadkills' on the site, which is fair enough. I just wondered why you thought it would then be necessary to delve into our others areas i.e. 'Technical' and then take a few cheap shots at our Novas?

You might not like them... (only 'might' doesn't apply) but that doesn't mean you come on and start slating them left right and center. It started off well but, as usual, turned into the standard BB "mine's bigger than yours" 'cept no one could be provoked into flaming back, could they.

Interaction between sites is no bad thing, but if we're going to post on other people's boards let's do it properly, or just don't bother.

I agree with you totally mate, I reckon for us (200sx owners) to whinge, take the piss what ever out of other cars on OUR BB is fair, but going to other boards to give grief is bang out of order.

It seriously pisses me off when people come on here to cause a bit of grief, even if it is to defend their car.
Hence I don't fook around with other boards.

FFS at the end of the day, whatever car it is there is always a better one. The 200 is <b>not</b> the best car in the world.
Besides we are all enthusiasts, some misguided, but still love our cars and working on them etc.
So I reckon it should be allowed that 'followers' of each car should have a sanctuary (BBS whatever) to say what they like with out some twat acting up giving i t mines beter than your crap. Just causes unecessary bad feeling.

If you go to a board and someones dissing your motor, then tough sh!t, that's their opinion leave it at that, prolly wrong though. :)

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, sometimes people just need think about where and when they air them.

Wandering off to someone else's board to stir up some agro seems like a complete waste of time to me :confused:

I can only offer my apologies.

I'd originally gone to do some research for a friend of mine who actually owns a rather nice Nova.
He was interesting in modding his vehicle and asked me about it.
I found some of the articles very interesting.

I can assure you that at no point were any comments made to be deliberately malicious or scathing.
I hope that most of the comments that I did make were add some additional knowledge to your crew and give a slightly different viewpoint onto some of the existing.
For example the discussion about whether to add a turbo to a Nova 1.4. I felt it rather appropriate to mention that spending £2500 on an engine conversion for car that would then need uprated brakes, suspension etc seemed a little odd when you could buy a Supra turbo for less.

Again, no maliciousness meant. Hope you'll accept my apologies.


One other point guys, I've already placed an apology on their server to explain the above. I would wholeheartedly agree that outright slagging off is simply not on. Guess that my style was not seen in quite the humous light that I'd hoped.

Hey, come on guys, that's not funny.

I got completely slated for saying that spending £2500 to turbo charge a Nova was a bad move, when you could buy a Supra turbo for less.

Either way, teach me to hunt around in other peoples forums for info and then getting drawn into their discussions.

I've read the posts you made and it seemed pretty constructive to me, pointing out the downsides of big engine conversions. There are some people who will do the big conversions because they want to see how far you can go with a particular car but most people mod to a rough target (mines around 300bhp). But there are other cars I'd like to own in the future (TVR etc).
Now I would not think of spending £2500 on a turbo conversion for a 1.4 or 1.6 car as you'd have to spend a lot more on uprating everything else to go with it (probably more than the cars worth in total). I'd save the cash and look for a faster car (unless you are one of the few people who love one car and would not want anything else).
Most BB's have open discussions on cars and are mostly used by owners on the car the BB was set up around but they should also be able to take the input of non owners (as long as it's not all flame bait).
If people are so insecure about what others think of the cars they drive then maybe they should have a VIN number check on login to their BB's so naughty peeps who don't drive the right kind of car can't enter.
