My mate Chris_200sx bought my car off me last weekend. He has upgraded from a very sluggish MG diesel, to rear wheel madness.

What you guys think of his performance (27mb) ? I personally think he held on really well!

He was far from trying to take the perfect line, infact, quite the opposite. he wanted tail end action and we sure as hell got it (i was the passenger)!

It was so much fun! Until the track day I was going to revert back to my honda routes....but rwd is so much fun, so, 180sx here i come; when I find one!!

Enjoy!

I'd say that was more luck than control. Known as a "Tank Slapper" I believe :D:D

I would have said the same thing, if I was on the trackday and you were close I would have not had pleasant things to say. I like the people on track with me to be predictable, the car wasnt under control :indiff:

I would advise you get to a proper drift practise day and vastly improve your skills before attempting something similar again. Did the trackday organisers have anything to say?

I am not trying to pretend, he was drift king, just entertainment for everyone. I am sure he would love to do a proper drift day, but few and far between and better he finds out what happens with to much power down round a corner, on a wide open track rather than a local roundabout....but i admit, i wouldnt have been impressed if i was behind!!

Yeah, you can see the truth, and is is much better than a roundabout as you say.

That was a hell of a busy track aint it? TBO Im surprise the martial alwed the cars to get that close.
Probably a good idea to learn how to control a car on and over the limit some wher a bit more open and less busy.
I know what its like when some one spins in front of you and its not a plesent expirence when you think you are going to collect them.
Still looked like you both enjoyed it.

For the record it was my first time on the track, and from watching the video myself, i think there were alot of people on the track.

Your all right i do need to get some practise but i havent got a clue where i can do it??? any ideas..

It also didnt help that there were people who had a total disrepect for the briefing chat and chose to hug the right lane, which imo made it hard for me to get a good line to take the turn... and to top things of it was a ford driver

The run drift practise days at Silverstone, and quite a few other places, probably start reading www.driftworks.co.uk, surprisingly they have all the drifty type information :wack:

i reckon a quiet roundabout in the middle of the night would have been safer...

you´ll get a feeling that you got to steer earlier and usuallly just let the wheel go as thats quicker than manually turning and even more important than the countersteer itself is to straighten out early and smooth enouth - otherwise it´s rather predictable that you spin out totally uncontrolled.

a friend of mine simply cant steer at the right time. he always spins out after exactly 3 of those "tanksslaps" :wack:

good to see you had fun
