I have to remove my tubby to do the Gaskets soon, so while its out is it worth getting it rebuilt to hybrid or super hybrid speck with 360 degree bearing. What will I gain and approximatly what will it cost?

Cheers,

Dave.

Theres not a lot my turbo guys will do with a T28 on the hybrid front but you could get a 360 bearing fitted for reliability. A 360 wont do anything for the performance of the turbo as such but will allow you to run and hold higher boost levels without the shaft pulling itself through the turbo and wrecking itself.

A rebuild with 360 bearing would cost £335. For this you get a rebuild consisting of full seal kit inc. all new bolts, 'o' rings,
thrust plate, bearings, both main shaft seals, 'c' clips, and compressor gasket. The turbo is de-coked, balanced, cleaned and would be fitted with a 360 bearing if you wanted to go that route. The 360 costs what it does because the housing has to be machined to accept it.

You should then be able to happily run 22psi with the turbo :)

Bren, what can your guys do for a T25. Can they rebuild upto hybrid spec and what sort of power advantages would this give. Any idea on costs ? (Approx)

Thanks.

Youre better off just going for a good second hand T28. Thatll give you a nice solid increase in boost for very little cash :)
