A mate of mine has just purchased a new toy - It is a replica Cobra with a 5.7L tuned corvette engine. It has 300bhp at the wheels and was a show winner when it was built so its quite nice even though not actually the real thing.

We have just been ragging about in it and roughly recorded a 0 - 100 mph time of about 10 seconds!

I'm used to a vigourous open air driving experience cos I also have a Westfield, but when this thing is charging, I cant even hear my own laughter. The deep bass rumble of a massive V8 through side pipes is the most incredible noise.

Just had to share it with you guys cos my enthusiasm for lovely cars boils over sometimes....

I've been to a few Cobra replica meets and they just sound fantastic. My dads got a 5.3 Jag V12 powered one and that sounds cool but you just can't beat the rumble of a big V8 :D

A mate of mine has a replica with a chev 350 in it, cobrajet heads, wild cam, solid lifters, 3-400bhp . . . it's quite fun!

Theres something about V8 noise that just makes all petrolheads go weak at the knees . . .

I went to the Tom Petty Race School in the US a few years ago....

40 oval laps in......!

De-Tuned NASCARs!!! - capable of a mere 190mph

190mph round a bank you can't even walk up addles yer brain i can tell you.

But the noise of those things at full chat is enough to bring on a severe case of premature ejaculation.

V8s should rule the earth - pity the specific output is so poor.
