Right then i have a few problems lol

I was hoping to get the car in for the HG next week but no can do now :( guy is flat out :annoyed:

Wanted to get it all sorted for Trax but it's looking a tad difficult now :(

I have tried Nisstec swansea but he dont realy want to do it.

Chris is also flat out.

Anyone know anywhere else in the swansea area that can be trusted with the car ?

I have the New gasket and replacement head bolts here :)

Hyline?

to be honest, any garage would be able to do it. they aren't paticularly hard engines to work on, theres a big engine bay so lots of space. i'm sure the average garage deals with cars alot harder to work on than a S14a. if you need it quick just take it to a local garage. make sure you tell them the torque settings you want for the headbolts. its only a chain driven 4 pot at the end of the day.

VIDAL BABBOON
30-08-2005, 19:13
Car is in and the head is almost ready to come out :)

He is refusing to reuse any gaskets and has ordered a full head gasket set at £100 :(

Still I supose its the only way to do it realy lol

I trying to convince him the metal HG that I had from Phill is ok but he would rather use a new one lol

VIDAL BABBOON
31-08-2005, 17:45
Poped in today at lunch and the head is ready to go back in :) they worked on last night to get it all out and skimmed it first thing this morning.

I asked how bad it was and he just laughed pointing to his lunch (a bananna) lol

Full gasket set will be here in the morning (fingers crossed)

VIDAL BABBOON
31-08-2005, 18:27
Well i have Phils old HG (meatal one) But he is reluctant to use it !!

Will see what gasket comes with the kit he has coming first then decide.

Butuz
31-08-2005, 20:21
It wont me a metal HG that comes with the £100 nissan gasket kit thats for sure!

Metal HG on its own is rougly £200 (or more if you like the letters h k and s) :D

I would tell him to use the metal one. Smash him over the head with the nissan gasket set if need be... :smash:

VIDAL BABBOON

All the new gaskets arived thisafternoon :)

I have mad him use the Metal HG as when i looked at it again lol the area that hs had the surface scratched slightly is the part at the front of the block infront of the chain :) so not worried about it at all now lol

He said he will use some sort of spray on it just to make sure though :)

Left at 5:00 and they were working on to get it all back in (and not looking forward to mating up the manifold lmao)

Fingers crossed it all goes back together smothly now :)

VIDAL BABBOON
02-09-2005, 23:00
Lets just say they have not been very carefull with the car

Oh and I found a few issues and still have some to sort out in the morning !!

Fuel preasure regualtor pipe was split (BAD)

Timing was at out Jez sorted that for me (Thank you again mate :) )

Scratches all over the wings and bumper (freshly painted ones at that )

Lovely gash in the rear pass side panel just infront of the rear
wheel

There is a metalic rattle that has apeared from somewhere ? (going to look at that in the morning)

The exhaust is blowing !!

So all in all Im feeling a bit shitty.

To top it all off the Bill

£360 Labour (he said for 12 hours work)

£100 for the gasket set he bought (and the rocker cover looks like it has been put on with silicone)

I have not paid him a penny
