i live near guildford mate
ahh...not to far from me in Addlestone then... :)
Do you know Wisley aerodrome just off the A3 near Ockham? I have been recently looking into the possability of using it for drifting....struggling to find out who owns it though...Think it is associated to Brooklands Museum in some way but still working on contact details...... :(
Would need some work to get it driftable but is a nice big lump of land....only thing is I think there is a bridleway runs along the edge which might cause problems....

i actually live in byfleet/cobham so evern closer to you mate
is it tarmac?
my car is quite noisy
what car you got?
Its not tarmac its concrete....which is a shame but would be OK, especially since it is virtually on our doorstep. There is an entrance to it near a farm in Ockham, near the Mucky duck pub. I wondered whether the farmer had any say over it since I think they use the area around the Airfield for planting crops.
I have an S13 in Black which is currently just a shell....about to go off for the cage. Im hoping to have it back on the road before next may...in time for some Summer drifting! :) Is yours Red? With a Black bootlid?

Have you tryed lately?
Maybe talk to the local coppers and get there ok first then aproach all local venues with that as ammo.
I was thinking about this but theres not much around my way.
would be good to see a local drift day :)

Thats a really good Idea...im sure alot of venue owners are put off by the legal implications so having the Police backing before you approach them would help to put their mind at rest! :)
That's not far from me, I'd be well up for this (I live in Hersham, Surrey  )
Alg

It's not the police you have to satisfy. If it's private land it has nothing to do with them.
Please, please make sure that if you find a potential venue, you involve somebody who has organised events before.
You might find a piece of land that's suitable and the landowner will be keen to get some money if it's not used for anything else. Great so far.
As soon as you take a few cars there for a bit of practise, you'll find out just how far noise carries and how intolerant local residents can be. And just because you think the place is in the middle of nowhere, doesn't mean that there isn't anyone living nearby.
It takes ONE complaint to shut a venue down and we've lost at least 4 drifting venues over the last 12 months because of noise complaints.
If you want some help in getting a new venue off the ground, please get in touch and I'd be more than happy to help as I'm really keen to find new practise venues in the South myself.
