The car feels great now. Still needs mapping, but much better. I've changed the oil and plugs this morning, and the engine seems a lot quieter now.
BTW, I had a play with the Profec switched on when going home. On Lo, I got 10psi by 3200rpm, and it held steady all the way to 6000rpm, where I changed gear. Also, at 6000rpm, the Knock reading was 0. I managed to sneak a quick look on an empty bit of dual carriageway. I had to turn down the Gain on the Hi setting, as it built to over 16.5psi by 3000rpm at which point the hotpipe popped off!! It was the intercooler end, and I have since cleaned it and tightened the clip back up. Must have been loose as that was one of the joints that wasn't undone. I always carry 8mm and 10mm spanner just in case. :)
I think the boost has always built very slowly on my car with the boost controller turned off.
