Sent an email today to Nissan about Dixon Nissan in Worksop.

I have had problems with them before about trying to rip me off.

Today I rang wanting prices on some parts, clear side repeaters, floor mats and headlamp protecters.
I ended up putting the phone down on the most rudest guy I have ever spoke to.
For a start let me tell everybody who has clear side repeaters on their cars, Nissan do not do them.

I even offered to call back with the part number. "yeah whatever" was his reply

I have had it with them, with the list of other little gems they have pulled if Nissan do not do something then I will get all the local rags to print the whole tale.

I still do not know the prices...

The problem is, if its anything like Ford, the dealers are all independant. Nissan may well be interested in improving customer service, but they have very little control over their dealers. Just go and key every car on their forecourt or something...

Quite simply every dealership I have been to has been cack.

Not a 200sx story but...

I used to have a Nissan Bluebird (Yeah I know :p ) and the windscreen wiper mechanisms have a major design fault. I kept doing a temp fix but ultimately it was p1$$ing me off so bad I took it to a dealership to get it looked at. By this I do mean looked at so the could tell me why it kept breaking.

The whole time I was there they treated me like scum for having such a cr@ppy old car. Well they figured out what was wrong....and fixed it without asking me. They then charged me £150 including fitting etc. for a part that I know cost £20 ('cos I had bought one a couple of months ago) and I knew I could fit myself. They wouldn't give me the car back until I'd paid  really fecked me off as I couldn't afford it

Would never go to a dealer again if there was any way to avoid it.

I know all about that wiper mechanism (on the Bluebird) - broke on me 3 times in three years - left me without at driver's wiper at 70mph on the M6 pissin' down with rain! It was due to the fact that the main linkage end were plastic and the actual wiper arms were metal. Metal wears plastic....and eventually, ur wiper stops working and stops (usually quite inconveniently!)

Part cost 11 quid - pretty simple in theory to fix - but took ages cos it was so fiddly!

Sorry but I can't agree with this... Toomey Nissan in Laindon are great. They got me clear fronts (they keep them in stock) and sides. They even gave me some advice when I asked them about the FBU.

They are not all bad, but I must agree with Ben, Loads of dealers are crap, I went to 5 before I got one that gave me a decent service.

Just shop around.

In my experience of several Nissan dealers, their service is abysmal at best and downright dishonest at times. You accept that you're going to pay more when dealing with a main dealer but you should expect informed opinion, prompt attention and quality of service. Now, I don't expect all Nissan dealers are bad but the 7 Ihave dealt with were. That's why as soon as the car's out of warranty, I'll be looking elsewhere.

In contrast to the service I get on my 200, which I bought new and which cost a lot of money, the service I get from Volvo on my 4 year old, second hand 940 couldn't be more different. Prompt attention, personal service, cup of coffee, decent courtesy cars (usually V70s, not bloody Micras). The car is always ready on time, valeted inside and out and the bill is not too steep.

The service I have received from my local Lancia dealer in France in the past 3 weeks that I've had the Thema has been outstanding. Because the car is specialist the sevice manager often has to contact Lancia HQ or even Ferrari to answer technical queries, this he does without complaint. When I rang him at 6pm last Friday night he kept the place open until I arrived and he and a technician stayed until 8pm to solve the problem. Cost £40. And I didn't even buy the car from them

Needless to say I recommend Volvo and Lancia, but would advise my mates not to touch Nissan with a barge pole.
