I've owned a few crap cars in my time, but would like to get some idea of what you lot have owned and what you did to make it more respectable (Well that's what you thought.)

Come on, don't be shy.

I want to know car, crappy mods etc.

Metro GTi 16v. Dunno if it could be classed as 'rice' though - suprisingly quick compared to what people expect :)

Nissan Cherry 1.3GS
How I made it better:
1) JBL 6x9s on parcel shelf, CD head unit
2) sold it for a Mondeo (!)

Ford Mondeo 1.8LX
How I made it better:
1) JBL 6x9s on parcel shelf, Infinity door speakers, amp and sub in boot
2) sold it for a TVR Chimaera :D

I found improving the ICE made driving a sh!tter more bearable.

I had a puke green mini that I decided to spray matt black without even cleaning it 1st (I used to have to carry a spare can with me to spray over the bits that flew off when going over 40) It had black windows that u could'nt see out off, and black wheels, I litterally bent a peice of metal into an oval, chopped the back of my exhaust, and welded this on, it was around a 9 inch centre exit and was louder than the RX7 at TSC :D and it had an 18inch sub out of a nightclub in the boot.

Then I got slightly better at modding (slightly ;))

When i was 18 i made the mistake of buying a Series One RS Turbo.. Im sorry!

It had only done 60,000 miles however but every day when i went to drive to work, it seemed to not work and emergency "fettling" would take place each time. It was always stupid things too, like the immobiliser...

You live and learn...

Nissan Bluebird 1.8 with factory bodykit...

...I just didn't want to follow all my mates and have Fiestas etc... I wanted be different but at the same time had to put up with the usual taxi jokes! Decent car tho, had it 3 years, passed its MOTs but had niggly 'I don't want to start problem' during my final 2 months with it.

Aged 19: Maestro 1.6L, speared the little bastid on a raised grid, punctured the sump and watched it bleed to death all over a nice newly laid road...

Aged 19: Honda Accord Aerodeck (1986/7).. Awesome little scrabblewagon! 0-60 in 9 seconds, and my first proper car! Only car I've managed to spin coming off a roundabout ;)

Aged 20 (current :D ) First owned car.... this here 200 :)

I had a Fiesta 1.1L with possibly the worst interior in the world ever!!!!:(

Beige with chocolate brown trim :( :( :(

Car was then killed by my little brother who had a head on with his mate who was driving his dad's company car at the time.

Honda NS125R - Left the car and got into bikes, did junk the air box on the bike and had a new exhaust to remove crappy 'L' plate restriction. Bike then got a nasty flatspot at 3-4000 rpm which on a 125 is fatal wouldn't go very well at all. Did a rejet and only managed to successfull move said flat spot to 5000 making it even worse.

Kawasaki ZZR600 - First 'Proper Bike' note there is now a definate Jap thing happening here.

Yamaha Thunderace - ooooooh Litre bikes are great, until you write them off :( Got the A127 shut for an hour though :D

Fiat UNO (company car) NEVER EVER EVER BUY ONE OF THESE THEY DON'T GO AND MINE ALWAYS HAD A FUEL PROBLEM.

Metro 1.1S (company car) 'S' - Sport ? no Sh!t.... good at handbrake turns though :D

Fiesta XR2 - Ok I'm very sorry, it was my mum's before (Honest) just bought it cause it was cheap. Didn't let me down though.
Clutch lasted 11 years, Exhaust 10, original gearbox was still in the car when I traded it in for.....

My Nissan 200sx :D :D :D :D
Yes I have truely seen the light - Praise the Lord indeed from on High - Boost, Speed and Revs. :D

Yamaha R1 - sorry but still have the bike bug:D

Astra SXI. Piper X filter, Ashley exhaust, Power boost valve, GTE rear springs, GTE clear front indicators, bee-sting aerial.

Was nice when I had it.

Had it for six years almost putting almost 70k on it.

Funny thing is, I thought it was fast until I got a drive in an SX!!!;)

That really depends how crap your 200sx is though surely, mine had NICE carbon effect stickers all over the centre console, and a piece of MDF with the boost guage in it

How about a Lada Samara

Thankfully I don't have the embaressment of admitting to it being my car. My Mrs was driving it when I met her. Worst car I have ever driven by a huge margin

Interior was made from old margarine tubs and exterior was made from steel left over from building tanks. Breaks were made of finest Russian wood and the steering was operated by a cunning arrangement of elastic bands

Got her to swap it for a Citroen ZX Volcane 2.0 within weeks, best FWD I have ever driven :D (passive rear wheel steering = lift off oversteer :) )but utterly unreliable :(

This scared me.

1992 - Chevette! Brown. With Cream interior. Bits of engine came up through the bonnet.
1992 - Volvo 345. Yellow (and my dad put a red stripe down the side in tape as a "Gift". Mark 3 Escort Cosworth wrote off on the back bumper :D he had a baseball cap on and everything.
1992 - Volvo 343. Bought with the £300.00 that I got from cosworth lad. (so that we didn't go through insurance. Wrote this off crashing on Southport beach.
1992 - Astra Estate :o DIESEL!!!! Had to abandon this one in the south of France.
1992- MK1 Fiesta 1.1 (Yellow with Black vinyl roof :D Classy

Bored now.

The list goes on. I may post the other 17 or so cars if I can be arsed.
:p
