Have any of you guys got a 'non-stick' windscreen on your S15, like mine? The sort that acts like its had an application of RainX...

Its

Will tell you in two weeks mate. Has it had rain-x applied??

I find that when dirt gets onto the windscreen after using rain-x it smears real bad.

No. Came like this. Had MANY washes and still does it. I know you can get glass that is coated in special stuff that does this (our double glazing has it).

Mines started doing it recently, after i washed it about 6 times in a week before JAE :wack: - just very clean glass i think

Nah. Its behaves strangely when you use the wipers. It doesn't wipe the screen totally dry. It leaves a funny pattern of water. Difficult to explain. :wack:

When I took my older cars though the car wash it used to do that, something added to the water I think.

its plastic coated , it last about 12 months and then needs replacing, check the s15 accessorie guide for details i think its over £100 to replace

you can get rainx as a screenwash as well, so it re-applies as you use it.

Aha! Found this on the S15 brochure:

Nissan has tackled the safety issue from all possible angles. Visibility has been enhanced with a special water repellant coating on the window glass, wide view door mirrors, a rear screen wiper and projector headlights.

I get that on my S15 to. But my wipers are crap so I can't see turd when it rains :wack:
Or maybe the layer is so worn and thereby it doesn't work?
Or maybe I don't have it and my windshield needs some deep cleaning along with some new wipers

best regards
Paul

Unless the windscreen's been replaced by one without the coating.
