Getting married next year and can't decide where to go for a honeymoon (there's just too many bloody places in the world).
Anyone got any recomendations?? I don't want mad bastid busy but then again I don't want just nice beach but no nightlife life due to us being quite partial to going out and getting off our trolleys.
We're gonna spend £3000 max so we can go pretty much anywhere. Only bad thing is we have to go in August (next year) cos the future wife is a teacher, so its a bit more expensive and some places don't open in our summer.
what do u lot reckon??

We went to Crete for ours last year, loads to do and not to noisey. we stayed at rethymono, temp in the mid 30's and 0% average rainfall in june and august. people are very friendly and lots of taverners. was so good were going again this year, 4 weeks time to be precise and I cant wait to get there and get out of this rain!

We are thinking of Lake Garda (sp?) for our honeymoon in July next year.
Have heard lots of good reports, including from two other honeymoon couples. Meant to be good food (mmmm Italian... especially the icecream :p ), nice scenery, plenty of life (if you want it on a honeymoon :) ), and not too far from Venice. Plus it's not a long flight.
Lot cheaper than 3000 quid as well!
We had thought of Japan, but the guy I sit next to at work lived outy there for nine years (and married a Japanese lass) reckons that July/August is not a good time to go.
Also considered somewhere exotic like Bali, but although many places like that are pretty, often not a lot to do other than look at the prettyness, long flights and bloody expensive.

We went to Jamaica...
It was about 500 quid each for half board for a week (8 years ago). Lovely place but the locals can be irritating.

I drove to lake Garda 3 years ago :p
You can also go over the border to Austria
Nice place, and not too expensive

How about Cancun in Mexico. My sister went there for her honeymoon and loved it. Swimming with dolphins and all that.:)

I took my Mrs on a cruise around the Canaries for about £2k all in.
The ship was not too hot (cabin was not quite what I expected), but the food was awesome, at least as good as any I've experienced in ANY hotel.
Basically you'd wake up every day docking in a new port whilst you're having breakfast. You spend the day in port, check out the island, then go back to the ship for a completely amazing dinner.
I think we visited 6 or 7 places in 8 days, definitely enjoyable.
The only thing I'd criticise were the onboard facilities, as beyond a sauna, cinema and small pool, not much else there.
But if you're happy to spend more, I'm sure you'd get a much better ship.
Overall, was an awesome honeymoon. Not that I'd rush to do it again soon, but definitely spot on for the occasion.
Ref Japan. Amazing place, but can be VERY expensive if you don't know what you're doing.
I stayed in central Tokyo, my hotel costs were £250/night. So it's just aswell my sister go me staff discount rates for the hotel.
If you do intend to go there, probably better to stay in cheaper places, more "authentic" feel anyway. Problem with that is that they're not quite so "romantic" for a honeymoon.

I would recommend Thailand, we went on our Honeymoon in Feb.
Stayed in Bangkok, Chaing Mai, Chaing Rai and Phuket all 5 star.
Did loads of site seeing trips, elephant rides, etc.
Our 2 weeks was well under £3,000.

Just booked a holiday with my girly, the Maldives.
Bit pricey though.
Cost us over 3200 quid!
Alternatively you could try "Atlantis on Paradise Island" Looks fantastic in the brochure.

A good place for a honeymoon?
Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep within the wife mate.
For a very romantic and tropical experience on white sandy beaches and crystal clear water lagoons, very friendly people, exotic foods serve in luxurius beach hotels and a little (I mean fairly little) night life, Mauritius is the place for you and the future Mrs for a week. A must for the Beach Comber.
