although dont like the new venue much :( Too flat and featureless - couldn't be arsed to walk round in the end.

Good size stand, great events - and as always great people

Haha, incidently your not the first person to come to the Fens and call it 'too flat'

Personally I thought the show was good and the venue was awesome! But then I would say that seeing as the show was close enough for me to nip home for a shower and brekkie [not that I did cuz I'm a proper outdoor type] :D

:D

I guess it's just because at Billing you walk from stand to stand and most are split up by some scenery - a river, a bunch of trees - that sort of thing. Breaks the areas up a bit and makes you feel like you've made some progress :wack: At the showground it just feels like you're walking forever in a straight, flat, featureless line :wack::D

Certainly no other gripes though :)

Can we ban scoobies and civics from revving the tits of their engines? And from mistaking us for skylines

It would be for their own benifit as well. :whip:

Anyways, Top event, even if the atmosphere wasn't quite as good as last year. Aitches car was fantastic too

Seconded :(

The Nazi fencing didn't help much either :(

Still, its a new venue so it will no doubt take us a bit of time to get used to it

As per usual the SXOC were of course the best there

Enjoyed meeting some of you at long last even if it was in the tent & pissing down with rain, it got a bit cramped in there with a green s14a inside to. Hi KEN,PURPLPOWER & Missus of course, the bloke who had the work done on his car yesterday i bet youenjoyed the trip home (if you found a dry Rd that is) :D ,STEVECARTER (who i didnt get to say hoi to) NICELY (love the car mate, the colour really suits)
Apologies to DRIFTER (will send the lights this week 4u)

had a great weekend, meet some great people from here for the first, cant remember much of the show, as i was rather drunk most of the weekend

Draven
24-07-2005, 19:08
feedback overall would be that it was pretty good fun
lots of "bad elements" there and apparent retards, for example booting it round in a t bar/convertible whilst pissed out their heads accelerating and braking hard trying to get their mates standing in the back to fall out, constant pointless revving of engines all night and the german people with a stand by the camping were still blairing out music at 2 am when i managed to finally loose conciousness

lots of chav types there too, and lots of stands to cater for them, oh well people need money dont they :/

anyway, it was good fun, glad i met some new people  dont think i will be bringing any kids along next time (bloody teenagers grrr)

the stand did seem to be a bit dead on friday and saturday during the day

A special award was created by the committee and reps that judged, 'Chairmans Choice' because there was a particularly special car there that deserved an award but wasnt quite up there with the trophy winners. So this award went to J.Wilkins for his near immaculate (get the rear bumper sorted John;)), totally factory 33000 mile white S13. :notworthy:)

Hi All,

Me the wife and the little un, enjoyed it.
The venue was huge, couldnt find the way out of the venue late sat eve

It was nice to meet new faces and old

The wife ended up doing a stint cooking on the bbq, and I assisted with the yard of ale competition.

Excellent food thanks to Docwra, although the wife ate most of what she had saved for me

Who won the trophies and who was the brave person that actually won the yard of ale competition. Also, no SXOC merchandise for sale ??

All in all ... the weather was fairly pleasant and a good time was had by all.

Looking forward to JAE 2006

Well this is my second JAE, but I only vvisited the first, didn't camp.

First of all, i'd like to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to the SXOC for making this such a memorable event. Special thanks to the moderators for their hard work and efforts in organising :notworthy:

I was over the moon to receive my trophy, my first car related trophy ever so a big thanks to those who decided it was worthy.

I thought the event was awesome. There were some interesting trade stands, some cracking motors, and everyone I met was either happy, drunk or friendly. Sometimes all three

Thanks for the hungry ***** nick, and thanks to doc & Yeager for slaving over it to feed the rabble.

I'll get my pics up soon

Ooops,:o the Yard of Ale then change a wheel competition. The winner, from 15 entrants, with an amazing 4min 9 sec was JC200sx. Theres something very wrong with the man.

Big thanks to Caleini for his help with the comp, his missus on the bbq, Docwra for his usual sterling service in sorting the food (12 pigs were executed for our use:eek: ) and of course, with his missus, in his Cheffing capacity. Also to Sideways Danny for making the wheel change rig and Bren for doubling the matching the sxoc prize to make it £200 on offer.

And the guys that brought along their TVs and PS2s, thank you, I enjoyed it if no one else did.:wack::thumbs: Oh, Moby Dick, I think youve got my memory card and GT3 disc, reckon you could post them to me?;)

And of course a huge thanks to the man mountain GmasterT for hiring and driving the van with all the stuff we needed for the show, collecting the food and being a generally really helpful bloke.:worthy:

I love you guys.:wack:

I think thats everyone. Im sure someone will be along soon that Ive forgotten.:)

Had a good time, firstly the thanks ...
Thanks to Vez for Organising the event beforehand
Thanks to all those that arrived early Friday to secure SXOC about 1/3rd of the campsite so 90% of us were camped together :D
Thanks to the HH BBQ staff/chef's/support/fridges for feeding me Friday and Sat Night :notworthy
Thanks to Aitch for providing amusement, showing his skills in a 4 hour turbo gasket change, and haivng the most talked about 200SX.
Thanks for the people that sorted the yard (4 cans) of ale as this was a great spectator sport, JC for winning  Chris for being fastest Drinker :notworthy: and Matt J for fastest wheel change I think  Special mention to Pops for doing the event topless and pouring most of it on his face/belly/crotch in that order - top laughs. And midnight? the dutch lass who did a bottle of Pimms and then a wheel change in 5:30

Thanks to all those I chatted too and especially those whose names I asked more than 3X

Great outing, there seemed to be loads of people still about around midday Sunday, then after hiding in my car watching F1 for 2 hours I was the only one left on the stand :wack:

Had a very enjoyable day today inspite of the rain.

Thanks to Vez and all others who helped with organising the stand :notworthy

I wish I could have been there on Saturday aswell - must do better next year if Mrs Fil doesn't put up too much of a fight :D :whip:
Nice to put some more names to faces, including finally meeting Mr Carter, Ben Taylor, Bren & Ann.
It also made my day to get the award for 3rd best car!! I was very chuffed indeed. Thanks to those who voted

i came over to take a looky at your cars but i'm sorry to say i did not get any further than the blue s15....what a car i want one!!!
my camera has a few pics of it too.

as for jae been going for last 5 years, venue seemed to lack atmosphere somehow,
not sure if it was just due to the sheer size of the place, you were knackered trying to walk around to check out all the other clubs.
also trade stands were a little more max power-ish than the billing ones.
Hopefully i'll be parking up with you lot next year in my S15R..if someone will just buy my car !!!!!!!!!!!

Had a really good time - got to put a few more faces to names.

Steve, I did notice there where 2 cards in the PS2 , but I put the one which wasn't mine on the box in the van. I'll check CD's too ( My GT3 disk was in a case with GT4 when I bought it down. )

EDIT: borrocks , I left my PS2 in Danny's Silvia - I'll check with him and get back to you.

JAE number 3... whilst the showground was mahoosive and pretty flat, it was nice not to get lost and end up driving round a caravan site at 7am!!

cheers Doc + co for the food... all yummy and my rings not collapsed yet!! :D

rain really made sunday a bit of a pisser... :( especally as i had spent so much of sat on the GTR stand... was hoping to be here a bit more... oh well... next year :)

there were a bunch of twats speeding about... but security was pretty good at chasing down and threatening the offenders...

MattyGee
24-07-2005, 21:43
JAE number 3 for me too, and another great one :)
I was gutted not to be able to take my poorly sx but im glad my astra could be of some help delivering the Hungry H*undy (Cheers to Nick from DME for letting us use this again :notworthy )
I much prefered the camping area we secured this year to the long strip we had at billing last year, made it easier to find people to get p1ssed with :D
cheers to Vez for the organising (shame you had to duck out early mate :( hope kuddy didnt drink all the beers gave him to share between the 2 of you ;) )
and an equally big thanks to all the great people i met, the usual midlands crew, Kev, Chris, Matt J, John Bennett, _Rob_, Matt_S, Mellon Stu, Marty_t3, Bean Bandit and loads more

im not a great fan of the new venue, i didnt like the evil looking fencing and i thought it lacked the character and atmosphere that billing had.
Also after all the talk of the new rules for who could camp and who couldnt and the stress they caused a few of us it seemed like the organisers werent as strict as they said they might be, which was a good thing :)
also the security seemed to be doing their best to give people a telling off for driving around like w@nkers when there was no need which was good to see :)

Thanks to Aitch for providing amusement, showing his skills in a 4 hour turbo gasket change, and haivng the most talked about 200SX.Why's that? Last time I saw it it was just a standard S14  Good example of a standard one but not a showstopper :wack:

We arrived on the Friday and knew no one there :o apart from Mellon Stu's beaming smile...we kinda 'tried' to introduce ourselves but I reckon people were busy setting up camp to chat to some strange Northerners :D

Anyway we had a really good time and apart from lunchtime on Sunday the weather was nice and I managed to get a sunburnt face :D Of course because of not camping (Kids) we missed a lot of the laughs and meeting people but still managed to meet some people

Was quite funny on the Sunday morning driving towards the SXOC stand and see a sea of cans etc...looked like good previous night

Got to meet loads of really cool people who I hope to meet again!

Thanks to the cooking team! Great food!

Thanks to AB for all the bacon and sausages! Star man! Will try and reciprocate next year!

All in all a very enjoyable event, and it has convinced me to do more club events! On that you can count!!!!

Cheers, Gray! :notworthy

Quite a good year.

The camping worked much better than last year :). Although it was slightly annoying to find a few new arrivals last night had blocked off obvious car parking spaces next to tents and pitched tents a bit too close for access. And who was the fecking tw@t trying to flame last night? :annoyed: It was bad enough with the Scooby halfwits doing it at midnight and six in the morning...

Highlights:

The stand on Saturday.
The hungry h u n d y.
The yard of ale contest.
Getting my exhaust fitted with help from Andy. :notworthy

Lowlights:
Chavs doing chav things.
Scooby amoebas flaming at all hours - for a good hour at one stage.
The flameout contest :ghey: 11 cars, 8 of them Scoobys. And what the feck was that Rover doing out there?
The tw@t who threw the lit BBQ into the skip in the camping area this morning. :annoyed:

I only popped up on Saturday but was quiet impressed with the site, although I prefer Billing. SXOC stand was the best one there!

Next year I think I might camp over night on the Saturday, mainly so I can take part in the yard of ale competition! :D

24-07-2005, 22:57
Still chuffed I thrashed Mellon Stu on the YofA compo :D:p:D

I think Crazy Eddie was probably more deserved of the most drunk award after his sterling Friday night performance, managing to get completely drenched by supersoakers, collapse behind Gary's tent - phone the missus - get back up, carry on drinking, fall over a guide rope and injure foot = unable to walk and no more beer all weekend :wack:

Thanks to everyone involved in the organisation again this year - it's absolutely tops we can have this sort of event :)

Yeah - big thanks to Docwra and Yeager, who fcuked off early to play cards on Friday night, leaving me in charge of the hungry doodah faced with about a hundred hungry SXOCers who were most disgruntled that all Yeagers ponce-burgers (chives indeed  ) had gone and all they had to eat were ribs and turds-on-a-stick. I only stepped in to help by chopping up a few mushrooms :whip: :p :D

bugger. everyone knows days at jae are ok, but evenings/nights are the entire point. but if you are a low life day visitor, you can't enjoy it.

no silly rules like that last year, so that's a major drawback of the new venue, and really means it's not worth coming for the day

so a big sorry to all the people i saw during the day, but didn't get a chance to say cheerio to

has anyone had any feedback from JAE or the EoES, as i think pretty much all the rules for the showground were broken (not by us tho), is this going to jeapordise the use of the showground next year?

*edit*
well done to everyone for the cleanup on sunday morning, i managed to sleep through all of it, picked up a few beer bottle tops to try not to be completely useless lol

Yeah we came along and saw Steve Carter on his own (Did not know it was Steve Carter at that point as I had not introduced myself yet, and had never met him before) so we all (Katie, Kids and me) give him a hand to remove the landfill site from the SXOC pitch :D

You fergot to mention his "little accident" :D :D

well im a big n00b to the jap scene, first time to a jap show (im a dubber, see), was impressed by stuff i saw around, was nice to meet some great fellas who arent at all what i
expected, at the same time met some people who were exactly what id expect. not surprised to see the usual mincers walking round asking stupid questions (like what happens at dub shows).
was very surprised to see some nice paint (no offence lads).

spent the vast majority of my time chilling out in the banzai trailer, but did have a bit of a look around.

shame about the rain, also a shame about the other grass section subsiding (just one of those things). dont blame the organisers for moving from billing (from personal experience), and think they did a good job of
keeping everything under control (know how awkward this can be).

thumbs up, really!

That was the third JAE for me and probably the last. :( I've never been so bored at a car show/event. I arrived on the saturday lunchtime and was bored by about 2pm. On the sunday I arrived around 11am and stayed until about 12.45pm. The venue was too spread out and a pile of pants IMO. I went there with 8 other people whom all said the same. We had a group of friends who were gonna come down on the sunday but we called them and said don't waste your time and money. The highlight of the weekend for me was the saturday night out in peterborough.

Not bad I spose ........ :)

I had a cracking weekend, and Ms Docwra loved it too - she was amazed at how friendly everyone was, and how little time is spent talking about cars :wack:
She has now decided she will but an S14a, which means Id better get modding the S12 if Im going to be faster

Good:
Some of the cars were excellent, although there was less stuff that made me go "wow!" than last year
Saw loads more people this year, and actually remembered a few of them
Yard of Ale/Wheel change - genius :notworthy
Being opposite the Driftworks stand was cool - definately the best two there - we seemed to attract a lot of wanderers over.
The food - obviously. I stopped cooking on Sat night to spend a bit of QT with the missus and she promptly took over
Oh, and I caned 32 cans of Stella from 9.30 on Friday night until 10am on Sunday
The two HH's - jealousy from all other stands :D

Bad stuff:
Didnt really like the site - like someone said, it was a bit barren. SXOC camping was also miles away from the stand
The "spectator events" were rubbish. The show and shine was alright, but only because you could shout "hairdresser" and similar at the :ghey: entrants. The tug of war was boring and the flameout was just :ghey:
The weather on Sunday was shyte - shame coz there were a few cars that had just come up for the day I would have liked to see :(
The 12-3pm boredom. Surely there could be something else to do. We ended up cooking to alleviate it :)

On the whole, magic weekend though - cheers for all those who organised stuff, and a big up to Gymmaster T for the van driving. Nice to meet all the old faces and some new ones, and once aga9in, thanks for being nice to the missus :)

She was a little concerned that about 50 people said "You are much nicer than we thought you would be" though :smash: :wack:

 Indeed, I came down on the Saturday evening for the pissup and went home again on the Sunday. Mind you, I was coming into the event viewing it purely as a social thing and not a car show.

It was very nice to see some old friends again and to meet some new ones. I didn't get to spend as much time with some people as I would have liked but I'll definitely do Friday and Saturday next year to remedy that.

Did she remind you about falling asleep halfway through rolling up in the club stand? We woke you up after about 20 mins when you started dribbling and you flatly refused you had been asleep at all! Have to say i enjoyed the weekend except the driving and the rain, fantastic to see old faces again most of which not seen sice Billing last year. Great feel on the stands and in the camping area, there were a few regional clicks but you sit with who you're comfy with i guess, i mix and take the pi$$ out of anyone. Anyone who is new to these just needs to walk around and introduce yourself, as i did last year and then went home, it was then that members went ooooh Psyches, not Sykes :D (thats hows its pronounced south of the border Kev  )

Anyone who missed the cocktails missed out bigtime,i did my best to have one of each. Im guessing they called the Bird Of Paradise that in case anyone yakked up the many colours. (Speaking of which who was throwing up for England on the friday night near my tent!)

I managed to avoid the crisps for another year so all good there although the 'Fence jumper' cocktail was a close second and my lips are still burnt. Vez gave a great lecture on the perils of drinking too much Tequila

Great food, great company and great amounts of alcohol, that's what make a great weekend, not the location. We could all have been in a large field in Peterborough :wack: for all i cared, location was and is unimportant.

Good weekend and great to see everyone who I saw again :)

No real complaints about the venue. Its not Billing but then again, I never thought Billing was that fantastic as a place to put on a show. I think we did well to completely colonise a huge part of the camping area.

Highlights were the yard of ale, which was a great spectator event (I haven't got the stomach for it :hurl: ), Vez's crisps. Big respect to Doc, Yeager, Mrs Doc, and the Scots lads for sorting out the food. Thanks to GmasterT for a near death experience drifting in his van.

Lowlights were the c**ts who think its cool to try to blow their engine by revving the tits off it at all hours (will take some brake fluid for you fcukers next year  ). Also the weather on Sunday.

First time at a show like this... have to say VERY impressed with what Vez and the club put on, excellent grub, and its the people that make it! The Saturday evening was a brilliant laugh and respect for all yard drinkers (inc Midnight on the Pims).

Good Bits
-Events put on by the SXOC team.
-Camping felt secure and well layed out.
-Prawns on the BBQ - they were brilliant :) ... thanks to the BBQ manager!

Bad bits
-The usual tossers that have no respect for anybody else (thankfully few and far between).
-Nothing there to spend money on, wanted to pick up a few goodies :(
-Sunday was a bit pants and I left early due to rain
-I now have far too many plans for my car

My wife had a great time as well, lots of people to talk to, for that I am thankful. She kept hinting that I should get some new goodies, and started talking about getting her own 200 - result!

The Events put on by JAE were rubbish, may of been better if we could of put on a tug-of-war team, I was there ready to chear you all on... Also kind of hoped to see some 200's in the show and shine because there were some amazing examples. The S15 should of been in there as a mininimum, (and the one done up like a cow - nice touch!)!

I wanted to go for the 'flameout' event - my car doesn`t flame :wack: , but to see the 300 SXOC members chear down the Scooby club would of been well worth a laugh  .

Thanks to all involved!

Just like to say that I think JAE went very well! Me and my girlfriend camped with a load of Honda people which we've known for a quite a while as we've only had the SX a little while and didn't dare venture over to the SXOC camping area on our own!

I came over to the SXOC area a couple of times though and there was a really good turnout. Must say that most of you seem like a really helpful bunch, I came over with a couple of our spark plugs with a question which was answered, thanks if that was you!

I went up with a mate on Sunday, he was on the Mazda Rotory club stand. Very impressed with the amount of SX's on show - never seen so many in one place :)
The show was a bit too spread out which would have been good if I was there all weekend and it was sunny. Walking around in the pouring rain in a t-shirt wasn't much fun so we left after an hour
Looked like a big turnout for a lot of clubs which was nice to see :)

I think that JAE as a get together and a laugh was top notch, but JAE as a show was just rubbish. The trade stands were pap and there was no entertainment.

What a weekend,

I've just managed to get back after a 'quite night in' at the hotel with Ken, The Pilot, Mellon Stu, Matt J, Mini J, Kev(Mrs Kev), MysxyS13 (and Mrs Kieran), Andy, TAC and Sambo. I've managed to loose my voice and have a headache from all the laughing

Top weekend at EoE too, I didn't mind the showground. As others have mentioned it doesn't have the character of Billing (I didn't wake up with a duck on my head this year :) )

Big thanks to Nismo Mark and Danielle for the help putting up my new tent, it was a feckin' ngihtmare and they were indispensable.

Great to see all the usual crowd too (Pops, grazor, Paul, Stidi, Matty2Fatty, the Pilot, Andy, TAC, JC, Jolly and Maverick)

Deathstar, that AW11 is feckin

And a big :notworthy to Stidi for his overtake on the way back from Tesco, a black MR2 was taking it quite easy on a deserted roundabout and got the shock of his life as Stidi went past him on the inside sideways :D

My only grumble for the weekend was learning how to play Texas hold'em with Yeager, Ben and Jacko (amongst others!) and then getting lost when I went to top up on beer, I missed the money game :(

Top fun though.

Can't believe how quickly the last three days have gone.

The yard of Ale comp was a stroke of Genius, fair play to those who had a crack. I completely bottled it, Pops was was hysterical after his attempt

Deffo up for next year, see you then

The venue was a bit dull, but obiously the show has got too big for billing (unless you kick all the cavavans out first), so it was probably unavoidable.

The events were a big letdown - why have a show'n'shine in the middle of a dusty racetrack ???

Plenty of room for camping though, and better facilities than billing. Nice to see people actually being thrown out for messing about instead of the organisers turning a blind eye like they do at most other shows.

I came over on Saturday and left on sunday, but I wish I'd gone friday & sat instead, as sunday was mostly just people going home.

As usual the Sunday night was one of the best :D Soo glad we decided to book into the Travelodge, and were able to find a fairly decent pub for the evening before finishing off the beers in Ken's room until the early hours. Feeling a bit of a lightweight for wandering off to bed around 2am, while the rest continued until around 4am  Hugely entertaining.

Huge thanks to Nicely for helping me fit the boost controller yesterday - sorry we had to take up so much marquee space to get it finished when the rain set in. Happy to have helped with fitting his shiny exhaust too - probably the only time I'll get to work on an S15 :) Thanks to Nismo Mark as well for his efforts in removing the carbon cannister, and sorting out the controller's plumbing before he went off to do judging duties

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole weekend - the venue wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it might have been compared to Billing - a lot of credit to Vez for his hard work making sure we had a decent stand, and camping area notworthy:

Good to meet a lot of new people, and see the Scottish, Northern and Welsh contingents again :D

I've got to say I enjoyed it alot...

Good:

- The drive down following Vez and co... mine and CrazyMoFo's antics with a knob in a BMW who got his butt kicked and CrazyMoFo practically rear ending the guy when the BMW tried to accelerate hard

- The M6 toll shoot out... picture about 10 200 S14's going through the barriers at same time with me next to *AB* mucho fun...

- Helping *AB* try and solve his suspension delimma and watching Aitch doing turbo gaskets in 4hrs :notworthy

- FAR / FAR too much drinking.... CrazyMoFo started before even got through the gates when in the queue to get in  - we seemed to have demolished about 3 cases of lager...

- Meeting a few new people and chatting cars / helping out a few people with questions

- Food.... those kebabs were superb :notworthy

Not so Good...

- Wasnt an awful lot worth looking at on the showground... far too much 'chav' element :ghey:

- Absolute :wakners: who proceeded to drive about very fast pissed up with people in the car...

- Flame out contest including a saddo in a MX5 :ghey: why?

- Lack of show and shine representatives from SXOC  - Nicely and Ken's car should have been put forward...

- Its a 'Show' to the public yet I saw very few people cleaning their cars on our stand and a few that hadnt bothered at all compared to other clubs

- Crap weather on Sunday...

- Lack of events from JAE...

- Nick taking pictures of the small crease in my front wing as the rest of the car was immaculate :whip: (I SHALL seek revenge)

I'll be going to next years...

Well, I arrived late Friday and was directed wrongly to the complete opposite side of the site. Not normally a problem, but the car being as low as it is and the ground being shite eneven gravel meant i literally dragged the car for like 20ft at a time about 10 times :wack:
Eventually got to the stand area (cheers Gary for the call!) and then went back to find the tent Id bought of Mark in the porch of the gents toilet (well it may as well have been!)
That wasnt a problem and I was pmsl at it stuck on its own :D
The thing that pissed me off was the talk of dogs shitting in it amongst other things. I wouldnt have worried but I had bought Ange with me and as you can imagine it would have been the end of me asking her to sleep in a tent smellin of shit!!! :wack:
Sorry for gettin pissed at ya Jay.
That night went very quickly, 4am finish IIRC.

Saturday was OK, I kinda took it easy and just stayed on the D:Mon and DW stands. Thinking Id have a look round the show on Sunday.
That diudnt really happen cos it pissed down on Sunday and everyone went home :wack:. I bought a few things tho and Al gave me some good news. My bits are all here :D

Sat night was cool - we spent most of the time on the stands of SXOC and DW. YofA comp was cool. My first time :)

At least I didnt embarrass myself - I dont down pints, so I was chuffed to keep it dowm :D. Like the drifting, my aim was to beat Steve and Jenks - this time I won tho ;):p. Steve (Carter) as always was good at giving orders but too wimp to take a challenge at it himself :ghey:. And I beat the scouser too which as a surprise :D

Great to see all the old faces and meet a few new ones. Mrs Doc is very nice. Glad she's buying a car :)

Billing was a lot better imho. The fair rides and bars/pubs provided some amusement last year (eh Ken!!!;) ) and they were sadly missed. The atmosphere was half of what it has been (this was my 6th JAE) and the event was too far spaced out. Some traders commented that they missed being "in the middle" of it all - it was a 10 min walk to some of them esp if you came from the camping area.

That'll do for now. 3 days interwebbin to catch up on :wack:

What a fantastic weekend :D

I thought the venue was a bit bland too start with but by Saturday it was ok. The SXOC stand was by far the best especially combined with D:Mon and Driftworks. Loads of people helped throw the marquee up and tidy up on Sunday which was good. :notworthy to GMasterT for his van drifting. It was quite amusing trying to stand in the back watching people cling on for dear life.
It's like the A-Team, only different.... :D

The camping area was good. The number of guy ropes wasn't  How myself and Paul steered Pops through them all, I will never know!!! The showers were a bit minging :hurl:

I met a whole load of people including Arry, Purplepower, Chris, Mellon Stu, Matt J, Sambo, Kev and probably a few more I can't remember.

Sunday night at the Travel Lodge was so funny I was almost sick through laughter :D There was some top quality humour and severe character assasination (all good natured) and the northern boy's impressions had me, Ken and Algie in tears of laughter :D

My car was possibly the dirtiest there - I just didn't have time to clean it before the event and I was rushing about far too much on Friday to think of packing the cleaning gear... I did mean to find a carwash but after taking nearly an hour to find a supermarket I didn't bother :wack:

Literally just walked through the door  knackered

Had an absolutely great time, i definately believe that its not the show or the cars there that determine how good the event is, its 100% down to the company you keep
I can honestly say i've not had a weekend in a hell of a long time that comes close to that in terms of the laughs that were had, and the overall fun atmosphere  wasn't too struck on the venue, but it wasnt too bad. just very very flat lol.

Great to put a load of faces to names, took an absolute shed load of photos, circa 200 of them  think Docwra was in just about every one of the ones i took on sunday, slumped in his chair struggling to make a roll up :D

HUGE thanks to kev, sambo and the rest of the scottish lads for the effort they put into getting "Loch Och Barbecoolercue" S13 BBQ ready in time, and for taking it there, and big thanks to Sambo for donning the Strongbow Box chef's hat and making us all burgers all weekend :D

Sunday night a bunch of us stayed at the travelodge round the corner from the showground. Got to say that night really made the weekend for me, so glad me Matt and Lewis decided to stay, otherwise we'd have missed a treat. certainly learned a lot about Ken, who really does have some very very odd fascinations!
Today we were a bit more refreshed having had the first good sleep since wednesday for me, and rather than go to the Little Thief decided that for old times sake, get Loch Och BBQ fired up and cook some burgers in the car park of the travelodge. certainly drew attention.
Thanks to everyone who me and big matt spent most of the weekend with, particularly the Scottish boys for making Matt's brother Lewis feel so welcome, really pleased he came out of his shell and had a drink too many with us.
Great meeting everyone, really enjoyed myself, now looking for kidney and liver transplants.

well after about 3 hours of reading i spose i should make a reply.

Thursday was a blur of activity to try and get the chill'n'grill/ bodgin barby /loch och bbq;) ready in time. (still not fully decided on a name)
And to that end a HUGE thanks must go out to Kieran (my_sxy_s13), Sambo, and Gordon (2_black_lines) who all stayed till around 2am on friday morning, in the pitch black to help me get it semi-finished. :notworthy
Also to Martin (dobergoose) for some fancy welding skills to finish off the barby box, and a fair bit of encouragement:thumbs:

Unfortunately some of the plans didnt get finished, and so it wasnt quite ready, but hey ho, we had made it, so we were going.
thankfully the many bodges that were holding it together held out for the journey there and back.
And some R+D was done, so it will hopefully be much better for the next event.

Was a bloody long drive down, as hills made the 2.0 D primera wanna hit a top speed of 40mph, and i know Kieran and Sambo were thrilled about it too, but meeting Mellon Stu, Tonya (tmmollah), and Camoflage Colin(ColinR) at scotch corner with a knackered FTO perked me up a bit :D

On a few miles more and we met up with Jon (A.K.A. Phil Mitchell), Demrog, and of course Marty T3, and our convoy was complete.

got down to JAE pretty early on, think it was around noon and was glad to see we had a fairly big area to camp in, so helped in the comandeering of the SXOC camping area :D

worked out pretty well in the camping i have to say, as we claimed about half of it for SXOC so it was gonna be a good weekend.
That was a relief cos i, like alot of others, had serious concerns about JAE being shit.

After a bit of shopping for grub since the original grub hadnt turned up yet the barby got sparked up for the first time with head chef Sambo doing the cooking.
And top marks to Sam, cos AFAIK, not one person got any poisoning:wack:

And this was pretty much me for the whole weekend.
the original plan was to head to the stand, but tbh the banter round the BBQ was fecking hilarious.
wandered through the camps a few times over the weekend to meet the usual suspects (Arry, Docwra, Ken, Chris, jim, danny, missy and Si, Algie, TAC, Andy, Mark, Vez, Steve etc) and had good laughs there too.
Was also good to meet some new folk :)
Friday was cool cos folk were arriving bit by bit, and as folk walked by or headed to bed :ghey:, more folk drove in.
Wandered off at one point to get donuts, and see ours, and driftworks stand, and met Andy F who i totally didnt recognoise, sorry bout that mate.

Saturday nights banter was excellent with the yard of ale, then back to the camp and Mellon stu on top form, and mini Matt J, AKA Lewis came out of his shell.
this combined with dave 200, the evil one known as John Bennet, psyches(sykes:p), Andy F, matty gee, Jacko and the midlands crew, including a silly drunk Wallers :D, Martbluesx, Matt S, Papa Laz (turbo Guru), Matt J, Chris, sideways danny, Wak and of course the rest of the scots crew. (no doubt forgot some folk, sorry :o)

there was a funny thing happened on the saturday when some guy in a 200 whores up to the camp area at 1am ish iirc and then the security whores up after him with the words "do that again and ull be out pal".

didnt see who the lad was.
ten mins later i came back to the barby and some more lads had arrived including Jacko, Matty gee and some mids guys.
and so i introduced myself to the guy sitting next to me and got an emphatic "WHO??"
So me thinking its my accent as usual, repeats, same answer, so Matty gee helped me out there(cheers Matty), turned out to be superclarkey, who didnt wanna tell me his name for some reason lol.
And as the convo goes on, turns out he is the lad in the whoring 200.
And he says, u know i was just driving quite slowly and they pulled me up, i just kinda sniggered, while Matty gee says "no u werent mate, u were acting like a twat".

I buckled, cos Matty is such a mild mannered quite lad, it was feckin hilarious to me anyway.

this amusement was only surpassed by mellon stu shouting at some (unfortunately Scottish)twat who came up to verbally abuse us through the fence "ur talking to a fence mate".
jeeze i had tears then :D :D

But as usual the Best night was the sunday night, when the proper "hardcore" stay back and make a night of it.
And in the usual fashion, we did !!

Big thanks to Algie, Tom (Pilot), Tac, Andy, Ken, Stu, Matt, Kieran and Sambo for staying back and making it a cracking night.
the restaurant was great, and top marks to TAC for getting £40 odd quid off the meal total :notworthy

Then we went back to Kens room and So many times i dam near spewed from laughing so hard.
The best night by far, and with excellent company.
Looking forward to D1 in a couple of months to do it all over again, and to JAE next year of course.

Appologies to everyone i havent mentioned.
Off the top of my head, was great to finally meet Dave 200, Pilot, Stidi, Jc200sx, Maverick, deathstar, GmasterT, Lewis(mini Matt J), Martin T, wallers, Superclarkey , Wantone (want one)+bevred and many others.

cheers everyone for making it a great weekend.

I cant remember much from the Friday night but am assuming i enjoyed myself :wack:

Enjoyed watching the YofA comp, big :notworthy to all who entered

Only real problems where the servere lack of bins on the whole site and the stupid fcuks behind us who seemed to enjoy bouncing their civics off the rev limiter from cold at 2am  badly wanted at least one to throw a rod

Good turnout on the stand which made judging very hard :(

Good to meet some new faces of which most ive forgotten now :wack:

photo wise i took 188 pictures. i got pictures of everyone cept matty doing the Yard of lager comp. photos are in the members area.

big thanks to danielle for helping me back to the tent on friday. i'm not sure what was in wallers cup, but drinking some of that after most of a bottle of vodka didn't do me much good...

saturday spent the day wandering round with friends and taking pictures and saturday night decided it was safer not to get drunk and just photographed the yolc.

sunday was a bit dull so we went home at lunch time.

Yeah, but we couldn't have managed it if I cunningly hadn't psyched the kitchens into forgettting my dinner :p

It was a good weekend  I didn't get the build-up to JAE that I normally get 'cos I was waiting to see whether my car came back in time. It turned up at 10.30pm on Thurs, so I was up at 6:30 on Fri to start cleaning the bay and washing it etc... then faced with a 4-hour 120-mile cross-country drive - running it in, so couldn't use the motorways.

Really pleased to arrive and find that the SXOC had annexed 90% of the camping area  Made it so much better, having everyone in one place :)

I liked the venue. No, it wasn't as interesting as Billing, but it all seemed pretty well laid out (apart from the traders stands being in the ar$e-end of nowhere), and I thought that the club stand was closer to the camping area than we ever had at Billing - top marks to Vez for getting such a good location :notworthy

Not much more I can say that hasn't been said already - the HH was as good as ever, the YofA was a class event - hope it's going to be repeated in future years, and I'm well impressed with that Dutch girlie for having a go :D - lots going on during Friday and Saturday to keep us all amused, and it's just a shame that the weather on Sunday bought an early end to the show.

Going to the hotel was a dead good idea - just sorry that I wimped out around midnight :ghey: That was a great evening though, Sunday nights are always one of the best at JAE :D As Stu says, we got some interesting insights into Ken's obsessions - sure many more came to light after I left!!

Nice to see old faces (Matt J, Kev, Chris, Jon, Algie / Grazor / Pops / Ken / Stidi / the other hundred or so southern lot :wack: , Midlands guys, Essex boys etc [got bored of typing names lol]) and great to meet some of the chaps I haven't met before - Stu, Kieran, Clare, especially the Artist, who I've been dying to meet since he did those great T-shirts for the Banjul trip :)

If anyone's got any pics of my car, please let me know - haven't seen any so far and I never got round to taking any myself... like so many, I was going to do the photo-shoot thing on Sunday :(

I thought JAE was all a great laugh :D (if perhaps a fair bit at my expense :wack: ). Nice to eat something without meat, get more than 3 hours sleep and a bathroom not submerged in water on the Sunday though :D .

I've still not worked out how to type Matt J's Bennett impression :D :notworthy

Alledgedly there were some cars at this show :wack:

What a fcuking weekend! :D Don't think I've ever laughed so much in my life, or ate so many burgers :wack: Massive thanks to anyone who made the weekend what it was, so many names and so much alcohol I've forgotten loads of them, but :notworthy to you all.

Best laugh of the weekend had to be the sunday night in the Travel Tavern ( ;) ) - I laughed so much I had to go shit, which I think was an evil Beanett-esque ploy by Ken just to add to his poo collection :wack: The recording of Matt's untypeable sound clip is a cracker, but I'm on a stone-age spec PC for the next few days or so so it'll be a few days til I can upload it :(

Aside from the sunday, highlights of the weekend included
-Sleeping a grand total of about 3 hours between the Wed night and the Sat morning :wack:
-Putting hundreds of names to faces and meeting loads of
-still being absolutely shitfaced on the sunday morning
-the scottish BBQ (Huge :notworthy to Kev for all the work put in, then towing it for 700+ miles in the support vehicle  )
-making use of said BBQ in the Little Chef car park, and all the looks it got us
-generally being hammered for the whole weekend :D

Can't wait for next year
