View Full Version : Santa Pod Today...
At the Renault Turbo Owners club today there was a metallic green S14, blacked out windows running 12.7's pretty consistantly, some of the runs were done without a bonnet(!). It was one of the fastest cars of the day, it what was meant to be a Renault only event. Any body know who's car it is, and the spec??
Fastest car of the day today was a Renault 5 again. Current record of 12.1 was beaten by a stripped 1.4 GT Turbo, running EFi and big slicks.
11.55 @ 119mph. Awesome!
:notworthy
This thread would have made Bodley cum
RIP Bodley :D
PS: Just moving this to the motorsports section

12.7 must be 350bhp plus, stripped out aswell. thats quick.

Weren't stripped, normal wheels etc. Think it may be a guy called Trevor Hibb, as he's the only member of the RTOC who also has a 200.
Ill try and find a pic, and one of the 11 sec 5 as this slicks on it are stupid, they stick over a foot out of the front arches!

At least 7 cars on the day running low 12's, therewas even a RTOC project Renault 5 Campus, which a maximum of £100 only could be spent on tuning, so they fitted a GT turbo head and carb, s/h T28 turbo, 1ft long exhaust pipe coming out of the wing, 1.4bar boost, and a fan assisted intercooler and ran a 13.77! It was called project CampARSE.

Bless his little cotton socks he must miss you JB :ghey:
my 250 go kart would of kicked arse my best time at the pod with it was a 12.5 and a 60ft time of 1.6sec
i actually went on the sunday of that weekend and got a 14.1 at 106 mph. was happy with that but my launching was pretty crap so could've done better.
felt better when the E46 bmw M3s that i was admiring in the queue(one of which had a carbon fibre airbox) ran mid 14s :D

Must have had something wrong with it then. They run mid 13's.

thats what i thought. but there were 4 E46 M3s together and they were running the same kind of times(mid 14s)

Do you have any opinions on 60 foot times and Renault 21's?
that would explain it but to be honest, from what i could see they looked ok, in that some wheelspin off the start and good quick gearchanges(non smg).
there was an S2000 that ran a 15.something as well. expected better from that.and there were i think IIRC 3 supras looking kitted out running............14s :o :D
