Astra 2.0i trouble.

I've got myself, or my missus has got me involved n trying to diagnose why some blokes Astra keeps stalling and not starting properly from cold (possible hot too dunno, I guess so if it stalls when hot).

So I'm gonna check the compression, timing and plugs.

Does anyone know anything about these motors, it's a 93' car.
What should the compression be, the timing etc?

What else can I check?

My Astra used to do that. It turned out that the cam had jumped a tooth :eek:

BTW was sitting in cafe in Amsterdam last Saturday and Pierce Brosnan and his missus came and sat on a table next to us, no entourage or nothing, was amazing to watch people recognise him, poor bastid.

Then again i could prolly swap my annonymity for a few million squids.

I had a nova once that used to stall after motorway trips, as the thermostat had gone, and the engine would run too cool :rolleyes:
