Hello,

Just read the 350Z preview in AutoExpress Magazine!, they loved it and for £18-£23k it seems good value too.

Trouble is it is not going to be sold in the UK!

Are Nissan mad? This is probably the best coupe they have made for years and they are not going to sell it in the UK.

Please can you all take 5 minutes and email Nissan UK and show them that the UK wants Nissan's cool cars not just the boring one's!

Go to their website: www.nissan.co.uk and click on contact. They don't give out their email address on their site!

Do you think I kissed enough ass here?:

"Dear Sir/Madame,
I am writing to you after reading an article on the fantastic new Nissan 350Z. It is undoubtedly one of the best looking coupes I've seen and the performance looks to be incredible next to the reasonable price tag. I was sadened then to read that this car will not be available for sale in the UK. Surely this is a mistake. I find it hard to believe that Nissan would deny their faithfull British customers the chance of owning one of these beautiful autos, or that they would miss out on the extra sales they would undoubtedly acheive by tempting owners of other marques away from their more expensive, less powerful cars.
Yours sincerely,

J. Gardner
BBC Operations Manager"

..... do ya think it'll do any good though......

Talking to a brickwall I fear, but here's my tenpenneth.

Dear Sir/Madam

I am suprised to learn of the decision by Nissan UK to NOT import the new 350Z coupe - despite the fantastic press reviews. Surely, with such a long heritage of 'proper' rear wheel drive Coupes, you would have jumped at the chance to corner a vacant area of the UK Market. Currently, no other manufacturer offers a real drivers car that is reliable AND affordable.

With the demise of the 200sx S14a, and the equally astounding decision to not import the replacement S15 Sylvia, the Nissan UK portfolio looks depressingly empty. I fear a slip in the mediocre world of Eurobox clones beckons unless somebody at HQ makes a worthwhile executive decision and imports either of the above!

My own Nissan 200sx S14a is up for replacement in 12mths time, and I am left with no option other than to look to other marques for my next choice, or explore the 'parrallel' import route.

Your Sincerely

D Hamilton

To be honest, I'm not surprised considering the way the press seem to hate Nissans.

But emailed them just the same

Done..

I told them their current line up is now sour. No S14, no S15, no GTR's through one dealership.. Man, this sucks.

Well done lads. Its only as a group of people will we have even a slight chance of turning this around.

Can you believe it! Nissan stopped selling the 300zx back in '94, (it carried on selling for years in Japan!). Then they stopped the S14a and won't sell the S15! Now they are trying to deprieve use of the 350z! (The original 240z's etc were the best selling sports cars ever!!!!! They hold the record - most sports cars sold!) Are Nissan crazy? (in Japan the S13 & S14 existed side by side as different cars 180sx & Silvia) Japan have it made!

The only other option is the buy a Nissan Skyline R34 , which rrp is £50,000+ (in Japan they sell it for £25,000 or so). Plus they are in limited numbers ie something like 50 cars to the UK per year! Not good enough! Why do Nissan want to give themselves a boring image in the UK? Are they trying to appeal to the pensioners? Micra's & Almera's & Primera's will be all that's left!

Well done "JonnySpeedbump" & "Dunk" for the great email's to Nissan!

Erebos try going to the AutoExpress website! Just type it into the Google search engine and it will take you there.

Please we need more emails to Nissan UK to try and swing this! Even if you are not in the market for a new car just now think would you want to buy the 350z in 3-5 years time as a second hand car? Yes I would. So they have to sell it here new now for us to be able to buy them secondhand in the future! This 350z is so much cooler & cheaper than the Audi TT! We need it in ther UK.

Imagine a convertible version! They will have one in other country's mark my words!

And as Dunk says we will all be pushed to buy Toyotas, Hondas, Mazda's etc as there will be no more sporty coupes from Nissan.

Please remember the 200sx & 300zx as new cars are both dead in the UK!!!!! No more. Stopped!

Please help, we need to fight in numbers!

Done. It would be criminal if it wasn't offered for sale over here. I've been drooling over pictures of this car for weeks now.

What a bunch of ******s.

Thisis my email to them, not quite as arse lickey as some of yours.;)

"As I understand it, you are not intending to sell the new 350Z on the UK
market. Can you explain why, when you have created a critically acclaimed
sports car, that you feel that the UK consumer is not worthy of this
product?"

And this is their totally inadequate reply

"Dear Mr Carter

Thank you for your email.

Nissan Motor (GB) Ltd have no current plans to distribute the 350z car in
the immediate future therefore I am unable to provide you with any
information currently, however if we do decide to distribute the vehicle it
is likely to be in the later part of 2003.

These plans are of course subject to change and therefore please contact
your local Authorised Nissan Dealer for the latest information.

Thank you for contacting us.

Yours sincerely

now thats a beaut car!! my mail has been sent...

Ive seen several reviews of the new 350Z coupe, an amazing looking, performing and sensibly priced car, but I am saddned to find out that there are NO plans to release it over here in the UK, I currently drive a skyline, and have been lucky enough to own several Nissan rear drive sportscars, there are very few manufacturs that sell rear drive cars in this country, and its a shame to loose such a remarkable car from a company that has produced so many cult classics.
I seriously hope that somebody has the guts/insight/brilliance to consider the option of bringing this car into this country, and lifting the Nissan marque head and shoulders above the cosy 'driving instuctor/repmobile' sector that it has settled down into.

Nissan are fools! we deserve overpowered rear drive rockets!

Posted on the GTR fourum too... :)

i got an email back from em today - heres an extract:

"Thank you for your recent enquiry. We are currently in discussion with our Japanese Sister Company to establish the likelyhood of the new model being distributed in the UK. However, these discussions are only in the preliminary stage and the general consensus is that the vehicle will not be available to buy from UK main dealer outlets"

hmmm, sounds not exactly promising

May import the 350, but not through usual dealer networks?

Sounds like Nissan HQ Japan probably don't trust the UK Nissan dealership-monkeys with anything more than the usual shopping trolleys...

This talk of discussions with Japanese sister companies definately makes the UK arm sound like a poor relation. Yes, Nissan seems to have a poor reputation within the UK motoring press - but look at the image Honda had until they started churning out Type-Rs and Vtecs. Nissan could easily create the same halo effect I reckon.

Cheers, Phil

I've just read in the News of the World in the motoring section that the car will be on sale for around the £25,000 mark. The author also commentated on how it was quicker than the Audi TT and nothing compared to it in this price range !!!!

You could be in luck !
