View Full Version : Tonight, I will be mostly driving....
.....a Fiesta 1.4 Zetec
Working in Manchester, and Ive just been handed the keys for a brand new (30 odd miles on clock) Fessy. Looks like a shrunken down Focus, fairly sort of retro looks inside, with a few gadgets like digi fuel gauge, and a CD Radio - wooohoooo, not like Ford to give out creature comforts like that :D
A full report shall follow tomorrow inc handbrake effectivness ;), 0-whatever is does, how sideways it can go on lift off ......... and how much my back hurts - or is that just the new Astra :(
Can you give a report on how the gear box holds up to reverse donuts too?
:D

......if the tyres last that long - will do ;) :D :D
Minimum launch speeds off sleeping policemen would be useful too.
I reckon start at 70mph and work up from there.:p
(If you're in Manchester, then the road behind Salford Uni has the best ones. I had all four wheels of my Niva airborn at about 25mph...)
Seems as its a birds car....
You should also check the ability to mount the pavement on a regular basis, find an industrial estate somewhere and go up and down the kerb for the entire length of road...
Oh and check its gravity/touch parking ability...
And then theres the how wobbly is the car test...get you and a mate to hold the roof at either side and shake the car until the alarm goes off.... The worst car so far I have found is a Toyota Avensis Estate.... 7 seconds!
Oh and the rear break test....see if you can visably have smoke pouring off the rear wheels when driving with the hand break on a bit!
Oh and the emergency throttle test....
Weld your right foot to the floor and adjust your speed with ONLY the break (2nd gears good) on thre trip home!
And whilst your batting round, take hte air filter off so you sound as good as a nova...
:D
You cant tell I drove company cars can you :D
