I took my car down to Norris Designs yesterday for mapping. Simon spent about 3 hours messing about on his laptop getting my car to go as well as it could.
I'm getting 29.4 psi in higher gears so plenty of air getting in :nod:
on the rollers in around 8 hours so we will see what his magic has done then :thumbs:

Its interesting you say that. Ive had problems with our manifold giving off so much heat that its melting everything in sight. We have just lagged it, the turbo outlet pipes, the air filter to turbo pipes, and all near coolent and breather pipes.
Our downpipe and front pipe get so hot that all the underseal around that area on the bulkhead and the floor has melted and run away, its just bare paint now! :eek:
I think Im going to lag the front pipe as well. I was going to do it the same time as the manifold but decided against it as I wanted to get some heat out of the system.
Ours ran 370 @ AVA yesterday with 25psi. It will run more boost with no problems :) I know a Cossy that ran 390 on the same rollers but was dynoed at a chunk over 500 so we are in that ball park now :)
Anyways, you must have had it on the rollers by now....and??????? ;)

With an ambient temp of 32 degrees :eek: my intake temps went high enough to cause the ignition retard to cut in :( (10degrees) this resulted in me only running 302.5 ATF :cry:
Simons estimate yesterday when we had mapped it was ~420-430
I'll try again on a colder day :)

Have you seen the vid of our run? AVA hold the car at various rev points and get a reading for each point. It ends with the car being held flat out for around 5 seconds with 7500-7800 showing on the rev counter! :eek: Does the job though :)

Our S13 is the last car to run. You dont get to see the final 7500-7800 run as the camera man didnt film it :( However you see how they hold the car at 5 and 6k rpm :)
The car spikes to 2.2ish bar at around 5k rpm so when they ran it upto 5k, held it there (they load the rollers up so they stop the car accelerating at a chosen rpm and its the amount of force the rollers need to apply to stop the revs from climbing which is used to work out the torque being produced rather than the car just reving out as they normally do. They do this at various rpm points to produce a curve) and then floored it to get a power reading the boost gauge needle was bouncing off its stop for 5 seconds! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, scary sh1t :cry: The car didnt miss a beat though :)

It is scary, listen to the engine straining on the run before the vid stops. And that wasnt the highest reving run. My poor baby :cry: :D At least now I know that itll hold maximum load at 7500rpm for seconds at a time without going pop :wack: :D

That vid sounds painful.
When I mapped the S14a stage 3 chip I worked up the load sites (hold the same revs for long periods) and its surprising how hot everything gets, even with enormous fans. In the end I did up to 4.5krpm and then did the rest on the road...

It ran 370@AVA with 26psi. Mike Rainbird ran 395@AVA and 515@fly on a dyno. We should be at Mikes level with full boost so around 515 on a dyno. You ran 550 didnt you?
I know Im always working on X=Y therefore A=B which is annoying but thats all Ive got to go on.

I think the main point of congratulation that needs to be mentioned is how Buffy has created the hottest 200sx I have ever had the displeasure of sitting in! :D :p It was quite a feat of engineering to turn the car into a 400Hp+ fan assisted (20G) oven!!! :D
