Here is a picture I found of the S16, Nissan never made it due to the SR20DET lump not meeting new Japanese regulations.

Word has they may still make a new Silver but nothing confirmed as yet.

I can take or leave Lagunas (worthy family cars) but the Prelude is gorgeous. If it's design integrity is taken up by others, then so be it. It's a compliment

variable timing, nissan's vtec style system afaik.

also, that photo has been around for ages, a merge of one of the renault things and an s15.

it's still :hurl:

the sr20vet is rare as the proverbial rocking horse poop

only released in the mega rare to find X-Trail GT on a 4wd running gear so far

the worlds first production VVT turbo engine, standard power around 280bhp

would love to get my hands on an sr20VET

quite like the styling of that s16 prototype, not quite as nice as the previous models but in the current super bland motor industry i think it would stand out

Celica and MR2 are going too. New Supra is as much hot air as the new GT-R and like the Z both will be 2 seat only.

In the UK as far as 3 door 2+2 coupes go Hyundai will have the market to themselves. But it's not an upgrade from a S13 or S14.

All the current 2 door 2+2 coupes are based on saloons without a proper sports restyle so they still have a 54"+ saloon roof height and not a sub 52" sports coupe roof height. You have to buy a 2 seater to get the low sports roofline these days and even the Z is 1" taller than a S13. Lack of leg and head room making rear seats unuesable even by subteens makes some very upmarket so called 2+2 coupes pointless - they could have saved 200Kgs+ and just made them 2 seat.

I looked on nissan.co.jp a few months ago, and the SR20VET was still there on one of the X-Trails, so this engine must have been made pretty recently. I couldn't find it when looking today but it might still be there - or has the X-Trail been replaced in Japan?. Maybe in a year or two it may be possible to import an X-Trail GT? :)

I've also seen specs for the SR16VE (non turbo), which makes about the same power as a CA18DET!. Probably a lot better on fuel, though!
