Hi, would like to get the car on the rollers to find out what its up to, power graphs etc. after fitting exhaust, boost controller and other stuff.
Anybody know a good rolling road in south wales?
Cheers

There is a RR day being organised by another club (see post in south west section).

I'll be running my car there and also Bigtone if his car is ready :)

It's on the 19th of june

If you cant make that one There are a few good places around wales :)

There is a new one just opened in Newport called WESTEC PERFORMANCE and it does 4wd also, suposed to be state of the art.

There is also Interpro

And there is Willfield motors in Abercunon (sp) Just up from Cardiff.

Im going to The Newport one on the 2nd of July so will let you know what it's like if you want :)

Cheers,
Heard nothing but bad things about interpro, self tapper in cylinder bore of turbo B16 they`d spent more than a year building, and the mapping was causing the car to run like a pig,
Ran on willfields rollers with HKS induction and exhaust and had 184bhp?
car was run with no fan blowing as car needed to be to close to wall (think he`s a FF, NA sort of bloke  )
One in newport sounds promising, i`ll have a chat with `em.
Shame V-Spec or Hyeline don`t have rollers! :Plug:

Running without a fan blowing is sureley not a good idea!

I would never go to willfield motors to be honest looks a bit of a dive.

Tommy @ Willfield has always run my car with 2 huge fans in front of it!

I have been going to Tommy’s for years and he has always looked after my cars.

Don’t be deceived by the look of the place he does know what he is doing, BUT as has been said he is more of an N/A man than anything else.

Last few power figures I have had there have been hampered by the wheels spinning up on the rollers though :(

The latest figure I have was done about 5 months ago 275BHP @ 4960 RPM

I have spent a few quid since then though so it should be much better now :)

And im hoping the wider wheels will help stop the wheels from spinning up lol

Adam, The info you posted about interpro has no reflection on their rollers

As for Hyline/Vspec

Have to agree with Buffy on the Rollers front. they've a good setup there

I wouldn't actually let them work on my car though :wack:

There is also Moseleys (sp) in Fairfach, just before Llandeilo coming from Ammanford direction. Vince also knows his stuff.

Willfield is not ideal for these cars, especially highly tuned ones. Just not enough air. I remember air temps of 60+ degrees c being recorded when I had one run there on a day in the middle of summer..

That Newport place looks a bit more promising.

Yeah the tin shed can get a tad warm in the summer lol

We avoid it during the summer for this reason.

Our list is full for the 2nd of July but if anyone wants to pop down on the off chance then feel free :)

We are paying £25 for 2 runs back to back with full print out :)

It's a special introductory price I believe :)
