I've got a non-race national B license. Its only for sprints and hill climbs. Costs about £30 and you don't need to do a course or have a medical.

The national B license is only required if you want to do circuit racing, i.e. with other cars on track at the same time.

Have you found any series where a 200 would be competitive? I've not found anything so far :(

No mate :( I'm hoping to get into the Tuscan series at some point or caterhams. I'd love to race a 200 but don't think there is a class to do so :(

Although I do remember a post asking for people to compete in a series, but I think HP was restricted.

To be fair, that doesn't seem like a bad idea .... I'd be more than happy to put time and some money behind it :)

I'd like to do some sprints next year, SELOC offered SXOC and FCCUK a 2.0L turbo 2WD category in their series if we got 6 cars. I think FCCUK got 3 cars entered this year. Stops you being up against all the Scoobs/Evo's which have better traction since most of the hillclimbs/sprints you can enter are in the same cat as these cars and they are hard to beat due to all the slow and very slow corners. Not like a lap of a track where it would even out :D

That doesnt make much sense but I cant be arsed to write it in better english :smash:

as the SXOC is an owners club, most sprint and hillclimb organisers will accept a club class solely for SXers. The entrants will only compete against other SXOC class members on the day and hence can run their own rules. Its very common.
Jez Horsham runs in the normal national classes and hence is up against other types and makes of cars fwd, 4wd etc so it can be a bit of a lottery as to how competitve a 200 would be, but in a 'club only' class, this doesnt matter.
One of the championships i compete in, has cars which are totally std thru to spaceframed supercharged monsters all competing together on the same day. The clever bit is the handicap system, where the club sets a % handicap for each class. If a std car does a run in 50seconds lets say, and the modified class has a 110% handicap, the modified car must better 45secs to beat the std car. it takes a season really to sort the ideal % split between each class but it works. Our championship has gone down to the last run of the last meeting of the year for the last two or threeyears.

That's cool, its also worth finding your local Motor Club and seeing what sprints they are invited to, the West Suffolk Motor Club gets invites from the Association of East England Motorclubs, it will be the same for the North East and other regions.

I'm planning a few sprints at the latter part of this year before the winter series starts, although I enjoyed that track day there was the element of competition that was missing that I quite enjoyed with sprinting.
