Hi Kieran!

I bought the car without foglamps.
Sooner or later they had to go anyway to make up space for a FMIC :D
But that will probobly be next year. Don't have much money now :(

nice one get-real, was the offsets i was really wondering about thought you had to use really ow offset to get the wheels to sit out far enough

this is a big help though!

Get_Real

IN fact, my rear wheels sit out nicely and looks really nice and phat :Plug: :p as its extra wide!!! From the rear view, the car looks nice and squat and the tyres stick out a bit. Dun want it sticking out too much

All in all good job done and all thanks to Diddn!!! hehe

Cheers,

Alex

PS: What alloys are you looking to get Kieran?? What else have u done to your car?? Apart from getting a custom exhaust :smitten: Lets see pics once you have finished!!!

Can I ask how much the ESVA cost ? Or a ballparkfigure
Im considering a S15 but the costs of ESVA scare me.

Just order one through an established import garage. Everything's included in the price and you can reject when it arrives if there's a problem with it.

I think I paud 1000£ for my ESVA.
That included
pick up from harbor.
exchange of non stock parts (only labor apparently. Not the parts)
mph converter
rear foglight
model-report rent
ESVA test
exchange the stock parts back to non stock

i think that was it. Can't remember anything else.

Nice. :) Shame about the fog light though. Both my current one and the last one have the fog light flushed into one of the reversing lights.

Mine is on the rear bumper, they look ok there but it would be nice to have it in the rear light cluster.

Yep the fog light in the clusters was an option. Think they called it the foul weather kit. Got them to fit mine on a bracket below the bumper, so that when I stop being so lazy I can wire the high level brake light in as a fog.

Is that legal Holset?? Cos mine's on a bracket below the bumper too and i think it looks horrible. :hurl: If it is, i'll be doing that too!!!

My reverse light is being converted to have an LED bulb, which is obviously clear untill lit, then bright red when switched on.

So i will still have two clear areas at the back without having to colour one red

With my lexus stylee (bling!) rear lights I have the fog lamp set in the main unit. The bulb I had to get from the US and although is silver it is not clear or LED (which I thought about). Most of my mates who have scoobies/mitsi's with LED bulbs found that they started to cause electrical problems for some reason! It could be the lower current requirements or something (I am not an electrical engineer!) but it may be something to be aware of.
Twin reversing lights is cool, but so is having the fog light in the main cluster. Its just a matter of opinion (each to their own etc) , but I definitely prefer it simple and clean! :)

I thought of doing as Nicely has done and convert one reverse light fully which i would of been hapy with. But Gareth @ Newera brung to LED to my attention.

Cheers for the heads up though Greg

greg where did you get your lights from? mine just arrived last week! no fog in mine though?

Greg
09-06-2005, 17:18
Got mine from onautos in Oz. Took about two months mind, but they were made for the Australian S15's, which had the in-built fog lamp (in the later models at least) so it was no issue for me. My S15 is a 2001 model so it came with the built in fog light anyway. I wonder why they changed it??
