Ok then guys and gals. It's time to organise this 'ere convoy to Japfest next weekend that we were on about at the last meet.
So, we meet up at that garage/filling station in Stroud at 8.00am again?
Someone tell me where it is, as I have forgotten. :wack:
Let's get a show of hands who will be meeting there.

I'm hoping to, but it's looking dodgy at the moment (http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=150992) :(
Swapped the starter after Saturday's meet so that's sorted.
Then when I'd finished, I was tidying up, I noticed a water leak.
The water pump had gone, so I changed that and the cambelt at the same time.
Got the car back on the road for Thursday, and actually made it to work and back :D
Then it died AGAIN today
I've had the car back on the road for 3 weeks, and only managed 3 return trips anywhere (including the meet) since without breaking down :wack:
Chances of getting to Castle Coombe and back are probably pretty slim  and at this rate I'll never get it run in. Bloody S13's :D

Want a lift? I'll be going all on my lonesome, so picking a passenger up will be no bother. Let me know mate.

I'm in, but i did think some of us were talking about 08:30. Although I suspect by the time some have fueld up and we catch the stragglers it'll be later any way.
I will be coming a bit later on as i'm going to be in my BM and don't want to be lowering the tone  But i'm pretty sure Ad will be coming with you lot (he is in Amsterdam atm) .....

Thanks for the offer Tom  but it looks as if I'll have my lad next weekend  so I'll take him in the Zed (If the 200 is still off the road) so we can leave early if he gets bored too quickly :indiff:
The ECU had died on the 200 :(
Got home with a spare but that isn't chipped so I can't run with it. Hopefully, when I check the old one, I'll find it's just a dry joint on the socket or a loose chip (fingers crossed ;) )
I'm back and i'll be there!! :)
Updated the list, didn't know whether to put you on ramps, so add yourself if you get the urge ;)

Is there goin to be a club stand or r we in the car park

There's a club stand, but you have to be a member and have had to have already booked your place and paid for the tickets...
There's ample parking just down the road in the visitors car park, though. A couple of folks who came in the convoy last year carried on down the road and parked while we went in the main gate.
I'm up for the convoy:thumbs: 8am stroud ..thats an optimax garage isn't it??
yeah think so mate, but i think it's cheaper over your way! :)

Just a word of warning if you are using the A46. They are resurfacing the crossroads at Old Sodbury (where the traffic lights are at the crossrads to Yate) so be prepared for a delay. I hope they have them finished by then but don't count on it. Took 20 mins. to get through this morning.

Curses! That was the way we were going, afaik... :annoyed:
Paul, which way shall we go then? Could go the M5/M4, but that's boring...
No point in going M5/M4 unless you go one junction on on the M4 as you have to turn at the same lights anyways

Well, what we could do is cut across down the lanes to Badminton when we get to just after where the A433 joins the A46. Then through to Acton Turville and on to Burton, then Castle Combe.
Barry, if you're still reading this, do you think that will dodge the jam?

You also try turning left at the next crossroads after the traffic lights at the A46/Beverstone/Dursley crossroads, onto the unclassified road to Westonburt, straight ahead over the A433 (don't forget to stop) and follow that road to Easton Grey, turn right onto the B4040 to Sherston and onto Acton Turville, turn left onto the B4039 and onto Castle Combe.

Yeah, I see where you mean.
Where does the jam stretch to along the A46 then?

Well yesterday it was back to the petrol station on the staight before the 40 limit prior to Old Sodbury. By the way, the 50 limit through Petty France (Badmington crossroads) is now 40 with a speed trap (mobile) quite often parked up just partially hidden as you exit the limit.

Cheers for the heads up, Barry.
I don't quite know where you guy's are on about, but thanks for the info barry. Look's like tom is leading then, he sounds like he knows what he's doing! :)

OK the road works at Old Sodbury might, I repeat might, be finished by Saturday. They are resufacing the road and as of this evening have managed to do about a third, leaving just tomorrow (and Saturday) to do the rest. They estimate to finish on the 21st. which is Saturday.

Don't EVER say such dangerous things as that again!!! :smash: :wack:
I can't know what I'm doing that much as I had to ask Mikey where the garage was in Stroud just now... :o
I had to ask Mikey where the garage was in Stroud just now... :o
 That he did ! You lot are going to be ok aren't you ? Or do i have to get up early for you to follow me over :p ? Ad you wanna borrow my pda ???
Prob not a bad shout if tom's gonna try and find a short cut :)
We gonna brave a different route then or just take our chances?

I'll say take our chances with the normal route, tbh. As not everyone knows the way and are not familiar with the ara, I don't think it;s that good if we suddenly decide to go shooting down lanes without letting everyone know of them before we set off from the garage. I might print off some route maps tomorrow at work or summat.

Last year the rouds were empty at that time in the morning. We didnt even overtake anything. Though probably that's cos I was leading and don't go quick enough :p.
So even if the lights are still there I wouldn't expect such large queues.

Then it's settled?
We'll go the usuall way and you can all blame me if we get stuck in a massive jam. :wack: :wack:
Still hoping to make it :D
Roughly 50/50 chance of being ready I would say
If not, I'll see you at the stand.
I really hope we go a bit quicker this time tbh...

I see nothing wrong with keeping to the speed limit on unfamiliar roads, tbh...
I'm with tom, i just wanna get there in one piece with my clean licence still intacked :) tbh..........
Ad.
who said anything about breaking the speed limits?
anyone got the castle coombe address or postcode??
edit: got it:thumbs:
