Wasnt sure which section to put this in...

The plastic collars which are supposed to let the tops and bottoms of the springs rotate/slide around, are buggered. Havent had them for a year yet, so I was wondering if you have any replacements?

I made a point of putting grease around the collars as well to give them an easier time (especially on the fronts as they slide a lot when turning corners etc... So I'm guessing people who didnt grease them will have the same problem...

I remember seeing a post by someone in the S14 section, that he had some metal replacement collars made up... The problem with the design is that the screw/stud heads protrude from the surface which the plastic collars/spring tops are supposed to slide - which damages the collars... I've got some pics of the damage, which i'll post. and I'll see if I can dig up the metal collar thread...

How many of the rubbers are damaged?

Yup I have the same problem, the springs seem to make short work of the plastic collars, but afaik it's only the fronts that are affected. Metal collars would be the obvious answer, but I guess that would be a ball-ache to get them made

Here are some pics of the fronts of mine:

I'd be happy at just getting a couple of replacement plastic ones, as it will enable me to get some metal ones made up without taking mine to bits first if you see what i mean... although they should be under warranty, but anything to do with D2 is going to take an age isnt it?

I'm not sure if they are different collars for the top/bottom or front/rears...

Theyre actually not covered under the D2 warrenty. D2 Racing state clearly on the warrenty card that comes with the kit that rubber components are not covered.

Bastids :annoyed:

I have a kit here that we are robbing for parts so we can sort some out. Ill see what we can scavenge from it. :)

lol. they must've realised they disintegrated quickly then! I'd appreciate getting one of each type of collar, so i can get them copied in metal, or at least the dimensions of each type...

I'd be up for buying a set if you can get them made (if they're the same for the S14?)
