Be nice about the FiestaTurbo.com people - we're going to be sharing a dedicated server with them soon!

I think that answers my question then!

There has to be no way they have a 16 sec quarter mile as standard, an S13 does 0-60 in 6.5 and 100 in 17/18 and has a high 15 quarter as standard...

But anyhow, they have no chance in the real world, so it's a mute point :)

They are probably alot lighter than S13s. I'd imagine modded ones would be similar performance to some S13s.

Hello!

I only came here to check if the clock was wrong (20mins out, fixed now cheers Lee!) but I had a quick search and found this topic.

We have a guy on ft.com who's Fiesta Turbo has been timed on various occasions and his stats are:

0-60 5.14
0-100 11.68  (standard is about 22!)
1/4 mile 13.57

It's not a silly money car, engine cost about £2.5k complete with turbo. 2.1 16v (Mondeo engine) with a T3 and a big intercooler. Low comp pistons, standard cams and rods, standard head.

So to answer your question, there are a few that are rather nippy! ;) Not that it matters at all, the two cars are completely different kettles of fish suited for different driving preferences, but I just thought you might be interested. :)

Adrian.

I don't see why not - a 1.0 litre micra has a quarter in the 18's, a fiesta RS is quite a bit quicker.

S13s do the quarter in 15.3 as standard.

Oh, it spelt moot.;)

I know a bloke (Andrew Holloway??any rs owners here?) had an aRS Fiesta RR'd at 218bhp@fly.That beat my 2tonner.:( still, they weigh as much as a pack of fags (good thing in the powerto weight stuff i suppose)

Hi Adrian, nice to see you.

Do you still use the rsbb as much???

YODI

Martin T

They weigh 875 Kilos kerb weight.
132/0.875 = 150Bhp/Tonne
RS Turbo

169/1.1 (I think) = 153 BHP/tonne

The only problem is the FWD, but they still go around the corners like stink. My old Mk3 1.6S with 15's and 195/45 tyres can run rings around the 200sx on the corners, but the 200sx obviously leaves it standing on the straights.

ok... but who wants a fiesta??

Anything that size, with a fair engine in it, will be fast, but I wouldn't imagen many beating a 200.

Oh, and that is actually a very nice site they have themselves there.

Eh?

My 1.2 Punto has a 0-60 of 14.3. I can't seeing it making the quarter in less than 25 seconds!

A Micra has got no f*cking chance.

Everyone is talking about 0-60 times, who can beat mine then:p :p

Ready in my POLO, wolf in sheep clothing. I can do a 0-60 in 9.5 seconds.

Not many cars can do that with a 1.0l Non-injection car.

:D

Oh I have just proof read this and found out that I missed out some wording. It was meant to read 19.5 secs to 60:o :o :o :D :D :D

Thought the S13 figuers were 6.8 0-60 (some figures quote 7 - 7.2)

Don't think they were 6.5.

Pete C

I read in the Parkers guide that the earlier (non-cat) S13s did it in 6.6, while the later ones were 6.8...

Oooh look, that must be why I bought a pre-'92 model! :D :D :D

Plus I f**king hate catalytic converters - they SMELL!!!

And to get back to the subject, yes I'm sure there are seriously tuned Fiesta RSTs out there that could beat a standard S13, but that's not the point...

You can make anything go faster than standard by spending money on it, but remember that for it to be fair the tune levels of the two cars would have to be equivalent... :D :D :D

Plus I'd like to see a light FWD car with anything over 150bhp have any grip whatsoever - and Fiesta's - especially RSTs have a reputation for wheelspinning

Hell my mate's 108bhp XR2i has no grip (forgive him, for he knows not what he drives - he will learn :))

Dave_S
15-10-2002, 00:35
Ooooh so 119.3 / 0.760 = 156.97 bhp / tonne :) :D Go lil swift :P
Stick that in your pipe 200sx owners :P :D (Ok, so I still REALLY want one! :( )

Theres a black 2.1 Zetec jobbie that live very near to me.

Ive seen him nail the throttle coming towards (already moving) me a few times and Torque steer aint the word for it  The car practically jumps from one side of the road to the other with him fighting with the wheel.

Ive heard whispers of 400bhp+ :D :D

Front wheel drive and no grip....

Okay as it was mentioned earlier.....

QUAIFFE TOURQUE BIASING DIFF.

These things are amazing, how do you think the RS Focus gets to 60 so quick, and thats a 'scrabble' wagon!

They are MUCH better in rear wheel drive cars though ;)

xr2i's have no grip full stop - regardless of how much/little power they have - quite possibly one of the worst chassis ive ever driven. I HATE IT

You can be forgiven Kev as Crail counts as off-road. So an Off-road 1/4 time of 15.3 is about right for your car.

There's also a "using 5th instead of 3rd" division league, you are top of the table of that :p

PS Are you getting tyred of the gear change slagging yet?

I'll maybe ask the moderators to put a sticky thread up, or I could do a poll - "What gears should Kev use during 1/4 mile runs? - 1st,2nd, third OR 1st,2nd, and 5th"

:p :p

I promise its the last time I'll mention it....... today

Wow that could have been serious Chris.

Im fine about it if bloody Dunc didnt keep bringing it up!
Last time i run him to and from Crail:mad:  :D

Chris_Lacey
16-10-2002, 20:49
Was moderately painful, I was slowing down after the run and had underestimate a 140 mph stopping distance... missed 4th coming out of 5th and hit the gate for reverse, it didn't go into gear but did bounce it out hard enough that it actually hurt my hand!

Who was it on the board that was beaten by a saxo? Let's find them to pick on... <grin>

Kev
16-10-2002, 21:03
Good idea mate, especially since Dunc has got Keith to put up a thread about me!
A bloody sticky one too!:o :(
