I'm thinking of buying a Silvia Q. What i really would like to know is two things;
1.) would 160hp in a 1050 -1100 kg car been enough to drift properly?
2.) is there easy stuff i could do to increase the power on a SR20DE? i.e. bolt on turbo packages, cams etc? i think apexi do one for the sr20de
thanks,
nic.

i met tom at one of the drift days he was using it, i can voutch that it does indeed drift very well.
could do with uprated suspension imo...but as a standard car its drifts well

that's good to hear. the car i'm looking at has Tein HRA's allready, so that's sorted. I figure i'd just need an LSD installed which don't seem to be too pricey.

id spend some serious money on a diff buddy...makes big difference...get a decent 1.5 or 2 way diff.
also look at a decent bucket seat...that should do ya

buckets were one of the main things too.
do many of you use your drift cars as daily drivers too?

had a look on there but i still can't fins any specific info on the silvia q series.
Drifting is about driving mainly, not the car. I'm pretty certain a Q's would be fine for practice days/clubman autoglym type stuff, not sure you'd be able to beat Julian and co in it but it would be reasonable enough to start with.

it just needs to get me started at least and be my daily driver too. i spose it's not a bad platform for upgrading wither tho really.

I reckon you could slam on the SR20DET's Turbo Anciliaries and ECU to run a high comp turbo setup when you get the urge for more power? That would be cool, virtually no lag and nice punchy power and its what i'd like to do if i had an Nissan.. I know Kazuya Bai's personal S15 runs like this too..
