Safety Information:
Marshals…
Drivers must obey the instructions of marshals at all times and wait for their signals before entering the track. A red flag will be waved when it is the end of your session. You must then rejoin the queue or head off to your pit area.
What to wear and bring on the day…
Helmet - All Drivers and Passengers must wear a helmet at all times
Comfortable shoes - For obvious reasons
Comfortable clothes - Legs and arms must be covered at all times.
Cheeky note - Doricar T-Shirts for sale on the day. These will improve your drifting
Attitudes…
As this is a first time for us at Teesside Autodrome we must leave a good impression. Please ensure that you obey the marshalls and instructors at all times. Absolutely no messing about in the paddock area will be tolerated. When on track make sure that you act sensibly. If you do spin your car please don’t turn the spin into a smokey donut display. Just turn around normally and carry on around the track. Apart from the driving, please try not to leave any litter around the track or pits.
Car Preparation…
Empty all loose articles from inside your car, including the boot.
If you have a towing hook, ensure it is in place prior to going on the runway.
Ensure you have sufficient fuel for the day – Nearest petrol station is 3 miles.
Ensure there are no fluid leaks.
Increase tyre pressures by approx 5-10psi front and rear.
Tyre fitting…
A tyre van won’t be present on the day but the ATS garage across the road know we’re coming and I’ve been told by the Teesside owners that they will swap tyres for £2.50. As Teesside is an International Karting venue the tarmac is perfectly smooth so I don’t think excess tyre wear will be a problem anyway. It is reccomended to bring at least two spare wheel / tyres though!
The day should be excellent! This place has to be Driftland UK!! See you there. Don’t forget to bring an umbrella. Looks like it’s going to be a wet one!
Sincerely,
James Wolstenholme
